Stick a Fork in that Week

Seriously the end of August already??? Its Sunday night and I am chilling out watching the VMA's this week flew by. This upcoming week is going to be busy. I have an employee leaving, a new one starting and its a 4 day week for me that ends in vacation.... Hell Yeahs.

Saturday I ran errands I needed some new bras and wanted to grab another pair of black skinny jeans so I headed to JC Penney's.  I had ran in there last week when I was at the mall to exchange primer at Sephora and picked up some awesome skinny jeans by ANA. I now one 5 pairs of black ones which makes getting dressed super simple in the morning. I'm all for that.

I popped into Sephora while I was there as well and am testing out a new foundation by Becca not sure yet what I think but I've only worn it once. When I went in I was wearing a no makeup make up look that all the girls went nuts over. Its become my fave pretty much just all bronzey and glowy. I have no clue what I am going to revert to when fall hits LOL.

Makeup with the new Becca foundation and hair left curly. This was before it was totally dried - it ended up being almost double in size lol.

Sunday we grabbed lil man and headed to the T-Rex cafe. He had a blast.

                                                                                                     Checking out the fishes

We didn't get a chance to check it all out - he was overwhelmed.  We will take him back to check out the dino dig.  I think we will be skipping lunch there next time. The cafe is out at the legends so there are so many better places to grab a burger right there. We knew going in the food wasn't great but it was expensive. We took lil man just for the experience.

I hope y'all had a great weekend. Here is to next week.. Go kick ass!!!

Confessions & End of Year Housekeeping

I have started cleaning up my digital world.. My work email inbox has a little over 17K email in it.. We won't get into my junk email account (yahoo) and my personal gmail accounts.  I have been going through my Facebook friends list as well. Anyone there that I didn't know real well or only knew because of a game I played a long time ago or a group I was in I unfriended.  If I don't know you and wouldn't go have drinks with you then you really shouldn't be on my friends list.

On the flip side even if i do know and have had drinks with you before, if you are a negative personality or constantly seek drama I am working on distancing myself from you as well.  I have enough drama that I deal with on a daily basis I don't need more.

I am also starting to go through and remove clutter from my house.  I have started telling my mom no on gifting me things - she will call and ask me if there is something I want that used to belong to my dad. Depending on what it is, yes I want it.

A few years ago the answer to that question was YES no matter what it was. We are now 5 years out from his death and the dust is settling and I will now occasionally say no, and she will say but it was your DADS.  Yes mom but that doesn't automatically mean that I should save everything, you can toss his pocket lint. I promise it will be okay.  Given that yes was always the answer until this year I have quite a few things that maybe I don't need. I will keep the stuff that invokes special memories for me of my dad or a time we spent together and donate the rest.

Christmas is next week and I need to get shopping UGH! I have no clue what to get my mom - okay I never do.

I really just want to sleep for a week.

I am on vacation the week after Christmas - well I am out of the office. To make it a real vacation I'd have to run away from home for a week... hmmmm there IS a nice hotel not far from here......

This hands down is my favorite light display - I want one day and my neighbors will HATE me..

I didn't watch the last 4 weeks of The Voice. I just got so busy, then so far behind..

I'd really really like to have my house to myself again.

I'd really like for someone to remember I am doing them a favor and not be treated poorly, or talked to nasty. I'm tired of snotty tones, I'm tired of being yelled at, I'm tired of no one else needs, thoughts or opinions mattering.

That running away idea sounds better and better..........

Weekend Wrap up

Then we blinked and it was Monday again LOL... The weekend goes by so fast anymore.

Friday night we did dinner with my in-laws as an early Mothers Day with mom. We hit our favorite Mexican joint and had an nice time just catching up.  My Mother in Law is a little hard to buy for so I was thrilled she liked her Vera Bradley quilted tote and matching wallet.  It helps is was purple - her favorite color!!

Saturday I ran a bunch of errands while D worked. I had a purse to return that I bought online and when it came it was way to small for anything. I also did some shopping. Last week I won a gift card from a fitness challenge from Earnd It. It was a first for me.  I picked up a few clothing items from Kohl's and then picked an item I would always have as a reminder.

I love this ring - photos do not do it justice.  I also dropped by the nail salon and did something I rarely do, I cut off my nails and went for a light polish.. I'm having a heck of a time dealing with my nails being this short! It will be awhile before I get that urge again!  I'm loving the light pink polish though.

Sunday I took my mom out for Mother's Day. She wanted to go to lunch and a movie. We went to see The Other Woman. It was a pretty good movie, perfect girls night out flick. I opted for the Fork and Screen option as Mom hadn't really done that. I was hoping for the deluxe Cinema Suits viewing but the movie she requested wasn't showing in that set. I thought she would have really liked the recliners.

Her reaction to what I had put together for her gift was priceless. Since all the photos everyone has of little man are all digital she had been complaining she did not have any physical photos of her great grand baby. At 72 shes not impressed with showing them off on a device, she wants prints!! So prints she got.

I printed off a ton of photos from birth to two weeks ago when Papaw and I took him to the Aquarium and put them in a album for her. She was beyond thrilled and proceeded to show them off to anyone around her at the theater..

After the movie I headed over to the shoe store in search of dressy sandals. I cam home with these babies - totally in love. They are beyond comfortable and have a wedge heel that is not insane but higher than young girl "starter heels" as I call them.

Friday Odds & Ends

I opened blogger yesterday fully intending to blog - then the day went nuts ending with a call that my father in law was back in the hospital and they were inserting a temporary pacemaker to regulate his heart rate. He is doing better now but that was not a call I expected to receive yesterday afternoon.

My 22 year old is beyond upset with me since I banned her from going to the hospital, shes had a cold for weeks now and as of Monday her doctor said she still had it AND her ear infection. I do not think that ANY one on the CCU unit needs exposed to that, she fully believes shes not contagious. I fully DO NOT care - sniffles ='s keep your ass out.

MMM Christmas should be great fun now that "I stirred the drama" cue eye rolls here.. SO old SO over it..

I am like this close to being done with my Christmas shopping - will finish this weekend..

I did call and get an appotiment with the oral surgeon - I go in Monday for a consult - read bill my insurance for an extra visit especially since it HAS to be extracted and they scheduled surgery for the 31st - yep New Years Eve .. its all they had open with all the college kids home on break wanting to get in before they go back to class.. Meh no worries - ring in the new year with wine or with opiates its all good!

Anyone else still shopping? New Years plans?

Randoms

I opened this post early this morning to start today's blog and the morning has gotten away from me.. Story of my life here lately. Things are just on the go before Thanksgiving next week.

I shopped Black Friday last year for the first time ever, and all though I did get some great deals I just don't think I am going to do it again.  I wasn't thrilled with standing in line for 2 and a half hours to check out. This was made easier by my brother in law coming in after he finished up Best Buy and holding my spot while I finished getting things. I also may have my grandson that night while his mom works a Black Friday sale - so that would be a deal breaker right there.

I found the perfect sweater for an Ugly Christmas Sweater party this year. We didn't do one last year.  I am hoping there is one this year because nothing says happy holidays than a moose humping holiday sweater..

Last weekend I started kickboxing on Saturday - oh lord my legs - until Wednesday I was using the handicap stall at work so I could get off the potty using the hand rails... at home I seriously considered just staying in the bathroom, probably would have if we had more than 1 bathroom. Sunday on whim D and I decided to shampoo the carpets - which boils down to ME shampooing the carpets because I just have a certain way it has to be done and CAN'T stand to not be the one in control doing it... So by the time Monday came I felt the weekend workouts from head to toe.  I also sported a hand full of blisters - next time I need to wear lifting gloves to combat the death grip I apparently use on the shampoo-er.

I finally found a replacement pair of my favorite shoes.. I found these on clearance a little over 5 years ago and wore them to death. Finally D tossed them out after refusing to gorilla glue the sole back together - it had cracked in half and if I wore them when it was wet out my feet got soaked. Still wore them - so he tossed them...

I will saying wearing them until the sole cracks is pretty impressive since the soles are THICK!

Last night Raz was enjoying the box they came in ... Since I am ordering another pair soon he will have another box coming for his amusement. If its fits, I sits..

WHEEEEEE What a Weekend!

Well that sure passed by in a blur - was that a weekend? Friday night was just relaxing at home, watching some TV.

Saturday D and I went on the quest to find me a bad prom dress from the 90's for this coming Friday's Bad Prom 5k. Ok people where did all the horribly bad dresses go? Did they all get burned when we discover how bad they actually were? I found zilch...

I did find one that I thought might work.  I stood in line wait for a dressing room - kinda not believing I was actually going to try this thing on - I am a HUGE germaphobe and here I am in Salvation Army getting ready to try on a used garment in which I am totally unknowing of the source - don't get me wrong I will take hand me downs FROM PEOPLE I KNOW.

Any way I digress, as I am waiting for an open room I start to get the feeling that a couple who are both in one dressing room - presumably to not take up the only two fitting rooms in the joint - are actually getting it on. D and I stared at each other in amazement. Yes I have heard of dressing room relations - but isn't that usually in a place other than a thrift shop in the middle of the store??

After all that the dress - if you could even call it that - didn't fit. Even if it did I don't think I would have attempted a 5K in it. It was a bodysuit with tulle attached come to find out. That fact was NOT noticeable hanging on the hanger. I discover that in trying to put the damn thing on. Plus my boobs were way to big for it.

After that it was time to get lunch and figure out plan B since I had been to all the thrift stores in town and came up with zip. So at the bar and grille I started Googling DIY tutu's. Totally came up with directions from a mommy blog who made one in 4T. Just add more material right.. Nothing could go wrong... Yep I am winging it - will let you know how it goes.

I dropped $20 at Michael's on Sunday to make one. Haven't started it yet. I did however get some bad ass galaxy printed leggings to wear under this to be made hot pink and white tutu. I'm pretty sure there was some chick a prom back in the day rocking something similar....

Sunday D went to the Chiefs game and I went to the office to do billing paperwork. After that I went shopping... I got the leggings and the tulle for the tutu. I also got a kick ass new bag that I am loving right now.  Ended the day with the Broncos game, tossing dinner in the trash (it was horrible), another run through billing and Breaking Bad.

How was your weekend??

Friday Letters

Dear Classmates.com - Please stop asking me how do you remember _____ I don't remember them, no one who went to a large high schools knows everyone in their graduating class.. I get it your trying to still make bank now that everyone has connected on Facebook.

Dear Dentist - Please don't hurt me.

Dear Farrah Abraham - Shut up you are a moron oh and close your damn legs.

Dear Creepy Sales Guy at the Mall - No means no I don't want your $400 jar of miracle cream  and putting at 20 times magnification mirror up to a woman's face is just douchy.

Dear Media - Just because a woman steps out sporting bling on THAT finger doesn't mean you need to piece together a bs story on are they or are they not engaged.  Lots of women wear rings on "that finger" its not like its taboo to sport a ring if your not married..

Dear Pamela Hicks - Well aren't you a lovely bit of sunshine.  16 years after Princess Diana's death you have to come out to the media and blast her. Uh did you think about how her son's would feel about that.  I get your Charles' cousin - which makes you family but you really should know better than to slam a person 16 years after her death. Keeping it classy "Lady" Hicks..

Dear Calendar Year - Please slow down, I'm not ready to start thinking about Christmas shopping just yet.

Dear 50 Shades of Gray Casting - WTF??

Another Late Night - or a Super Early Morning??

This weekend has not been the best for sleep for me.  Between the abscessed tooth and the fact I am normally a night person I have been up super late every night since Friday night. Last night/this morning I finally went to sleep at 6 am.  Despite that I only slept til 10:30 or so. Thankfully I am still off work Tuesday, but Tuesday night I have to get some sleep.

Monday was a pretty laid back day - which honestly are my favorite kinda days.  I finally made it in for a manicure - it had been 5 weeks. Honestly that is unheard of for me I am there every 2 weeks like clock work. Life has just been that busy.

Pretty sad looking..

Those are not my nails but since I can not capture the colors in this polish well at all I had to search the interwebs for a good picture. This polish has quickly become a favorite of mine.  The color changes depending on the light and angle in which you are looking at it.

After the much needed nail salon trip D and grabbed a late lunch at Houlihan's then headed to the mall to exchange some bra's I purchased. I managed to buy the wrong size twice that's how much of a hurry I have been in and how much stress has been up in my world. I mean seriously who does that? I know my size I remember searching the racks for it and then proceed to purchase the wrong ones TWICE..

After the mall we hit a local pawn shop - to shop not to pawn, where I found this little beauty at an insane price - so it had to come home with me.. It is a black and white diamond cross over ring. I have had my eye on a similar one at a jewelry store.

After that we hit Kohl's where we managed to find D three pairs of jeans. Which is a huge score as it is so hard to find him pants that are ever long enough never mind find 3 pairs that were on sale. At 6'6 when you find pants long enough you purchase all you can find - the sale is a bonus!

Now I am just sitting here watching the DVR, blogging and having some downtime. Pretty successful day - How was your Labor Day?

Seriously? Its Tuesday??

I missed Monday's weekend wrap up.. Every time I went to start it I had something else that HAD to be done right then - before I knew it Monday was over.  I spent Monday on the phone, in meetings and generally with paperwork.  I feel like every time I looked up 2 hours had passed.

SO how was your weekend?? I ran errands and finally picked up some new clothes - both for me and D.  His were worn out and mine frankly just didn't fit, you can only wear clothes that are too big for so long before you just look frumpy as hell. Do yourself a favor and don't stay in the wrong size clothing for to long.  It does defeat your purposes.

I broke down and got new shoes as well. I'm not sure if it was because it was the end of the day and my feet hurt already or of after an hour of looking I was fed up with nothing being comfortable - but I ended up with the plainest loafers you have ever seen, they boarder on ugly. However, the are hands down the most comfortable shoes I have ever put on my feet. I'm talking walking on marshmallow comfort. I am ignoring the ugly/old lady factor.

a few pics of the weekend...

Look close - that car is filled from the floor to almost the roof with CRAP.. When I passed it I noticed the front passenger seat is the same way - there is ONLY room for the driver.

Little Man Saturday afternoon - he had just gotten tubes in his ear the day before

THE comfiest shoes.

Weekend Shenanigans

Sami's Shenanigans

Hello Monday - wasn't ready for you at 6:15 this morning I'll admit it but lets get Monday done and in the books!!

Friday was the crap icing on a craptacular week last week just sucked hard and outloud. Midway through the day D emailed me and asked how my day was - and yes this is a perfectly acceptable answer - vodka send vodka was the reply.  Friday night we opted for a pizza and video game night.

I got home and ordered the pizza and changed into lounging clothes. The pizza and D showed up at the same time and D had vodka and cranberry juice! I worked out my frustrations killing stuff and drinking - awesome Friday night actually.

Saturday during the day we just chilled D played his new game and I read 2 books and got a workout in.   Saturday night we hit Ernie Biggs Dueling Piano Bar.. had a great time! I love the piano bar its a fun time. I managed to drink 7 Absolutes and Cranberries - oops ..

I do have one question WTAF is up with guys wearing their hair in a bun? I saw 3 guys in the bar sporting this style. When did this become popular and why on earth hasn't anyone told them how silly they look??

I also learned that Taco Bell makes a fab shredded chicken burrito (don't judge, I haven't been to Toxic Hell in over 8 months.) All I kept saying was "DAMN this is a GOOD fricken burrito, hey babe did you know they make a GOOD fricken burrito". D was sober and swears they are that damn good sober as well so it wasn't just the vodka. He did however suggest I do NOT look up the calorie count on that bad boy - I'm gonna heed that advice, in fact once 8 p.m came I stopped counting anyhow and declared a free for all.

Sunday I got up around 10:30 ish, nope no hang over either, D was playing his game again so I started reading another book.  About 1 we headed to Kohl's and got D some new jeans and a few shirts - yeah we did clothes for father's day since I bought clothes for Mother's Day and frankly he NEEDED new jeans bad!  After Kohl's we hit the New York Dawg Pound for some hot dogs and fries - yeah another no count day ;-) man they were good.. Sunday night Princess Peep brought Lil Man over and we played with him for almost 2 hours before he was tired out and ready to go home and get a bath and head night night.. Love that Lil Man he flat cracks me up. I taught him to say Batman - or something similar.

How was your weekend??

Weekend Shenanigans and my 200th Post

Wow 200 posts - to me that seemed to happen quick - though if you look through my archives you would be left with the thought of "Quick WTF does she mean quick, she has posts going back years!" I didn't blog for a few years and when I did blog months would go by between posts; its just been the last 6 months or so I have blogged on any consistent basis.

Hello Monday - why do you come around so much quicker than Friday??

My weekend was fairly busy Saturday I had planned to sleep in a little bit but for some reason my eyes popped open right at 6:30, how come that does NOT happen Monday - Friday?? Weekdays I practically have to be forced to get up.

I chilled for the morning then hit the nail salon for a fill and a pedicure.  Kohl's had emailed me a 20% off coupon so after weeks of avoiding them and shopping in general I hit Kohl's after my pedi.. I had to Mother's Day shop!

I got gifts for each of our Mothers and thoughtfully helped D out by picking out my gift, I'm so helpful that way ;-) - honestly we have been pretty low key about gifts both for our Anniversary and Mothers Day this year I figured he didn't mind especially since I needed new shirts and I have to be there for that anyhow. So I picked up several tops, a pair of shorts that I just HAD to have after I tried them on and 2 pairs of earrings.

Sunday I puttered around the house for awhile, cleaned the kitchen and found the kitchen table.. Why that is such a crap catcher I don't know but on any given day you will find several magazines, a pile of mail, my purse and until yesterday the purse I carried before I switched them out. My laptop, software, a crap ton of receipts from out of my purse, my lunch bag and assorted other things - its safe to say we don't dine there.  We eat on the couch in front of the TV.

We USED to eat there and a few nights a week we would either play scrabble or cards. We need to get back to that instead of zoning out in front of the tv both of us with laptops on our laps AND our phones. As a whole society is way to involved with their gadgets and not connected enough with the 3d world around them. Unconnecting  with gadgets and connecting with people and being in the moment - being fully present will be my focus this summer.

Sunday afternoon I started cooking chicken and green chili enchiladas, which are not difficult to make just time consuming. Peep and Lil Man came over so I played with him inbetween assembling dinner. My mom came over a few hours after Peep showed up and we all just chilled watched some TV played with Lil Man and ate dinner - relaxing Mother's day (ok except the 4 hours prep and cooking time lol, but I had my grandbaby there giving me sugar and high 5's in between it all - so I am a happy Noni).

How was your weekend??

Tis the Season

A repost for all who are trying to fight the crowds for the last minute things....

Its the season to be freaking jolly.

Gimmie a break - Jolly my ass.

If it is the season to be jolly then why is the day after Thanksgiving referred to as Black Friday? Want to see just how jolly it is. Go to Toys R Us that Friday and watch how jolly the parents are as they claw, scream, bite and punch their way to this years "gotta have it toy".

These oh so jolly people are the same people who will steal your parking spot at the mall after you have circled the parking lot for 45 mins looking for ANY spot not already occupied, then they will have the nerve to flip you off as you slam on your breaks to avoid hitting their car as you look at them in utter shock.

Once you make it into the mall, you will be treated to frazzled mothers yelling, screaming tantrum throwning, snot running from their nose "little angels". As dear old dad looks around fervently wishing that aliens would come kidnap him and anal probe him because that would be more pleasant than dealing with the fruit of his loins and the haggard shrew that was once his glowing bride. Yeah Jolly whatfreakinever!

If you procrastinate on shopping the above scene only gets worse, the only thing that will save your ass now is a super Wal-mart at 3 am, or Christmas shopping at the local gas station.

After you brave all of this in search of the perfect gift for the oh so picky Aunt Enda, pain staking gift wrap it in the perfect paper. Carefully transport it to the specified family gathering place and smilingly hand it to her. She will then rip the paper to shreds, turn said object in all directions then look at you as if you punched in the nose and gave her tickets to the nearest fat farm and say "Well I see you grabbed the first thing you saw in the discount bin at the dollar store".

Next year do yourself a favor purchase gift certificates on-line and then book yourself a week at the spa..

Tis the season to be freaking jolly... Bite me Santa

It was the end of the world that wasn't ....

So we are still here the earth is still rotating and the doomsdayers are figuring out a way to spin the latest "Oh wait we did the math wrong".  In all reality it was just the end of an era and the start of a new one.  So I am glad I paid my credit card bills and didn't consume three times my body weight in cheesecake "just in case".

What I am working on is finishing up Christmas shopping on this last weekend before the holiday.  I just had a few gifts and stocking stuffers to pick up - which I got most of done today.  I have to go back to the craft store after price checking to pick up the second to last gift, then head back to the mall (yes I went to the mall on the Saturday before Christmas - I am truly insane) to pick up a last minute OMG its perfect gift that will be ready.

Friday my wonderful grandson turned 7 months old - wow this year is going super fast.  I can't believe he is already 7 months old and growing like a weed.  Unfortunately the lil guy is sick with RSV at the moment so we are playing Christmas by ear and waiting to see if he will be well enough to go to the family dinner at my sister-in-laws.  Fingers are crossed that he feels better soon - if for nothing else the poor guy is miserable.  It amazes me that with as sick as he is, he is still smiling and laughing - he is such a laid back lil dude.

On the fitness front I am just maintaining at the moment and will ramp back up come Jan 2.  I am by no means going crazy and eating everything in sight but I am eating a lil of whatever I want. Then come Jan 2 its balls to the walls at the gym - newest goal is toning.  I am not going to hide come this summer in jeans and oversized shirts - its to freaking hot for that shit.  Plus we are planning another family trip to Hawaii come Spring of 2015 and I WILL like the pictures I am in this time around of the vacation!

I also have plans to start working my knee again and it get back in order so that I can participate in the Diva Dash come March - its one of my favorite 5ks.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend!! Happy Holidays

Talk to us Tuesday - Link up

Today is shaping up to be a Kill it - Kill it with FIRE sorta day.. Starting with waking up a half hour late this morning and going from there.  I got my new glam bag last night and was super thrilled to test out its contents - tip of the day, don't try out new products when you are running late. I'm rocking the ":glam fairy emo" smokey eye this morning.

My new earrings came yesterday as well so I am sporting them.. Love a great deal - I got them on ebay for 47 cents which included shipping! I'm patiently waiting for the rest of my ebay auctions to get here. I am waiting for a few 8 bracelets to show up, a necklace and a ring total for all over it $27 ..

I finally found a new purse and it arrived over the weekend, hey don't judge, yes it seems like a lot of stuff over the past few weeks, BUT its been over a year since I bought a new purse, and I needed new clothes and accessories to match - none of my old clothes fit .. they are a few sizes to big! WOOT so glad to be able to say that now.

So far since I started with FitCamp (end of July beginning of Aug) I'm down 20 lbs. I did hit goal but I am thinking 5 more lbs need to go and I am working on getting really toned. So far I am just maintaining - which is pretty good for a holiday season.  Right now I am in the middle of the plank/squat challenge which ends Dec 31st.

And now for the pictures

The week wrap up

WOW what a week.. I knew it was going to be I just didn't know HOW much of a week it was.

Let me back up to Thanksgiving...  Had a blast with the fam. I did watch what I ate but I ate what I wanted if that makes sense.  Then I vegged out with my SIL (ok hid out from the football, back in her bedroom) ...  watched tv, shopped on line and scoped the BF (Black Friday) ad's for the next day.

For the first time ever I actually did shop BF. I went to Kohl's and made a killing. I managed to get a little over $600 in clothes (for me :-) I really needed them) for a little over $200 and I got $65 in Kohl's cash AND they mailed me a 20 % off coupon for this week - so I am headed there tonight to finish up.

The rest of the weekend was uneventful, I cleaned the heck out of my house and got some order restored there and pretty much thought I was getting ready for the next week. 4 am Monday morning however found The Hubs and I in the ER where he was admitted to the hospital where he stayed until last night. Glad to have him home now!!

Wednesday I hit my goal weight... It took a few hours for me to realize this however with everything that was going on. I weighed that morning added it to the groups weight for the holiday challenge then a few hours later I went HOLD ON A SECOND.. I MADE GOAL WOOHOOO!!!!!

My knee is doing wonderfully so I am gearing up to start actually working out again, my goal now is to be toned.  Jillian Ripped in 30 here I come!!!

Yesterday I got the presale code for concert tickets .... not just any concert BON JOVI!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have wanted to see Bon Jovi live since I was 15 years old ... so this is one of those bucket list things. I am beyond excited, I am like one of those little chihuahua dogs who's gets so excited to see you they pee on your foot.  The concert is not until April so I can see the excitement level only going up from here.

This weekend I am hoping to just chill - I am at the level just above exhausted and need some downtime.  What are your weekend plans??

Who's Black Friday shopping?? What deals did you score?? Is your Christmas Shopping done? Or are you still shopping???

(this blog was scheduled in advance, so I may or may not have gone for the first time ever, still deciding at this point)

And because it's the day after the first HUGE feast of the season..

Hey Hey its Friday!!! Week recap

I seriously need a title generator!! I think the next one is going to be insert title here.

Sorry I have been missing all week - I went and landed me a cold that quickly turned into a sinus infection.. Which has been the norm ever since my sinus surgery a few years back (appx 6) - worst surgery EVER  I really wished I had never consented to having it done. I still have the migraine headaches and now if you sneeze on me -  bam I have a sinus infection.

I got in a Yoga meltdown workout in on Monday but that has been it for the week due to the illness.. Yoga Meltdown wow - the only thing I can say there is HOLY ROLLING SIDE PLANKS BATMAN!!  I am looking forward to getting back at it though after my head clears a bit more.. This weekend I will hit the treadmill and work up from there .

Last night we met up with family who had come in from out of state - Its always fun seeing Aunt June - Then The Hubs took me over to get new jeans mine were to big!! Found 2 pairs of skinny jeans that are a size smaller!! WOOT That always makes for a good day.

My knee surgery has been scheduled for Nov 2nd then I have about 6 weeks were I have to take it easy  - so no jumping rope or running (2 things I HATE lol).

That's how my week went - how was yours??

What to read after 50 Shades... and other stuff

I just finished both Seduction & Snacks and book 2 Futures & Frosting By Tara Sivec LOVED them both. Some parts of them had me laughing so hard my sides are aching. Shes got a sailors mouth as do I and when stressed says whatever comes to mind. Gavin (the 4 year old son in the book) seriously cracks me up, he says all the inappropriate things in 4 year old speak and will take on Drew (his father's best friend) in all seriousness, I do adore the fact that Drew talks to him just as he would a peer who pulls the same stuff.

Check the books out   Seduction & Snack and book 2 Futures & Frosting

Now I have to find something else to read. That is the issue with really good books, you want them to last and last and when you hit the end you feel sorta of bummed and it takes a while to find something that holds your interest.

What have y'all been reading out there that you enjoy?

Tomorrow is my Ortho appt so I can see whats going on with the knee - I am hoping to be allowed to go back to working out. I have been a titch restless (hmm who'd have ever thought that would happen) and getting stressed a lot easier without having an outlet. I need to be cleared to do something - even if its just ab work on a mat.

Friday the Hubs and I had a date night at an Italian place where everything is homemade - I do believe I ate  my weight in pasta and tirmesu  which I could happily eat and entire pan of on a daily basis and call it a day.

Saturday I puttered around the house and watched lil man and the Hubs went to my sister in law's and chilled.  Sunday was errand day and I found a new outfit at Kohl's. Tonight I am headed to the nail salon then the couch to relax and see whats on the TV.

And its the last official week of summer

I am not sure who decided this is labeled the last week of summer, but for the social season it is... I know there are a lot of people who are thrilled - it was a brutally hot summer here this year. I for one am NOT one of those people. I don't yearn for fall. Summer is my favorite - I love jeans and tank tops - you can have your sweaters and boots. According to the actual calendar the first day of fall is September 22.  I will celebrate labor day gleefully (its helps I took an extra vacation day) because I LOVE day's off and get togethers with friends and family but its still summer damnit!! :-)

Weekend redux

Friday night we went to dinner and then hit the couch to read (me) and play video games (the hubs).

Saturday Hubs changed the oil in my car for me - thanks honey Zoomy really needed it.  I went out with friends that night and had a blast - we hit a bar and grill for some really good food. Next was the wine tasting  where I bought a bottle of the sweet wine they were showing - it was some pretty good stuff - I do believe that maybe my labor day drink of choice. Then we hit a patio bar where we sat drank and bs-ed for hours. After which we headed to G-Town to bs for a few more hours.. My head finally hit the pillow about 1 am.

Sunday was the usual errands and grocery shopping followed by comfy clothes on the couch to bitch about whats not on TV until 8 when True Blood comes on :-) - that episode last night was whacked - effing cliff hangers!

I didn't persay watch what I eat this weekend but I did make sure I didn't go bat shit crazy any eat everything that wasn't nailed down. My motto is you still have to enjoy life - if you are not enjoying it then whats the point??

The beginning of yet another week...

Hello Monday..  The weekend was a pretty good weekend.  Hubby and I had date night Friday which was fab - after that we hung out til 1 am with friends just chilling and chatting.  Saturday I spent the first part of the day relaxing - then went shopping with my Sister-in-Law, then dinner at her house and neighborhood movie night.

Sunday brought more shopping.  I managed to pick up 5 tops (2 are for Hubs) for $40 bucks - love JCP's clearance and the new pricing structure. I got a new white cardi at Target.  Sunday night we chilled watched some TV and I did some paperwork for the upcoming week at the office.  Hubs is off on vacation this week so he gets to play house husband.  Though the "I'm on vacation happy dance" in the kitchen this morning was a little over kill as I headed out to work..

I did not being my workout stuff in with this morning as I already had hands full with a computer tower I was hauling in, so its treadmill tonight and 30d Shred tomorrow in my office after work.. Lil Man turns 3 months old tomorrow - time flies so quickly. So that may or may not happen tomorrow..

I am hoping for a quiet but productive week.
