Weekending

Why is Monday so close to Friday yet Friday is so far away from Monday?? I could totally support permanent 3 day weekends!! I hope y'all had good weekends..

I did go to the indoor shooting range Saturday alas I did not shoot. I did watch, I can appreciate that for some it's their thing and they blow off steam and even relax this way. I just can't seem to shake the nope I don't wanna hold it I don't wanna shoot it I don't want to do anything more than observe, oh and jump despite ear protection every single time it goes off, and I am okay with that.

After we grabbed brunch at a new diner that had opened up near a friends house - He had gone shooting with us and we decided to stop there on the way back to drop him off at his house. It was meh. I am not used to ordering a breakfast skillet and the sausage in it being pizza sausage and not breakfast sausage. So the entire thing was just "off" for me.

The rest of the afternoon and pretty much the weekend was spent relaxing watching movies and finishing Game of Thrones season 7 - yes I was late to the party and just over the last 6 months started watching - I am all caught up now and can only say helloooo is it April yet??? I NEED to know what's up with Jon and Dany!!!

Sunday found St Louis waking up to ice everywhere so just chilling and watching TV was perfect. That afternoon I did venture out and grabbed lunch and a few essentials then right back to the warmth and cozy. I am so ready for warmer weather now. I as a rule am not a Winter person anyhow and I am over the coats, boots, frozen fingers and toes.

Weekend Shenanigans

How is it Thanksgiving this week?? This past weekend was a busy one - but a good one. I started crafting for Christmas presents. Honestly, I spent a good bit of time between the gathering of all the stuffs to make the stuffs then making the first part of the stuffs. Clear as mud? Good *wink*  I decided this year to craft the adults gifts.

The kiddos will get some small things but I am not in a place to buy all the stuff. With that being said, how much of it is actually appreciated. In 3 days (if that) they forget most of what they got and the attention is focused on the one or two "I'm gonna cease to breathe if I do not possess this item" item. So I am focusing on the few small things.

Saturday I went to Wal-Mart and Michaels for supplies. Thankfully I remembered Michaels always has online coupons and Saturday did not disappoint there was a 50% off coupon for one item they always take it from the most expensive item instead of the least as most stores do. I  made a few testers then felt confident in what I was doing to start on the gifts. Nothing like learning new skills for Christmas presents right?!

Saturday night was dinner and a movie. Let me just say Bohemian Rapsody is EVERYTHING I had wanted it to be. It was an awesome movie.  I can see buying that on DVD. I want to see it again to pick up on the little things one always misses on the first viewing.

Sunday was errands and more crafting - somewhere in the mix of the weekend I also got laundry done and there were a few video chats with my grandbabies.

I hope y'all had a good weekend let me know how you spent it.. Link up Biana

End of Another Weekend and another Summer - Weekend Shenanigans

Saturday was officially the first day of Fall - the weather knew it as well it was so mild out. Mid 70's light breeze and I did laundry and made the 1st pan of homemade jambalaya. Apparently the Cardinals won their game - I can NOT get Royals games here to save my life - they tease you, will show  you the pregame all the interviews and then right as you think ok mayyybeeeee... Then BAM a really rude blackout screen that says NOPE not happening. Ok well maybe it says, This game is blacked out in your viewing area  RUDE AF. It is cable to boot its not like I am trying to fake a local channel into showing it.

Saturday night I vegged in front of the TV and watched Jurassic World and Infinity Wars both pretty good movies. I'm trying to not just dismiss movies with a "not my thing" and watch them anyhow. I am glad I watch both of these they were pretty good. I do have to admit to being jumping in parts of Jurassic World too! I have realized I have not one clue about a lot of the back stories in the various comic book movies so I was a little "huh" at how some of them related - so I aim to fix that as it was a really good movie.

Sunday I played a few rounds Words with Friends watched some more TV then went and washed and did a quick detail on the Jeep. I really needed to get the bugs off from last months KC trip then the drive to the farm for the girls weekend. Sunday was pretty much the perfect lazy day with just enough getting done so that you felt like you were not a total bum. Though I do LOVE a total lazy bum Sunday - planning one next Sunday actually!

Hope your weekend was what you needed it to be - whatever that was, either totally productive or lazy as can be. Both are good - balance is key!

Weekend Shenanigans

Friday night was Balloon Glow - which is when they air up the balloons at night the evening before the race in St Louis.  Unfortunately due to people thinking they can drive but actually can not - I missed the balloons - but did make it to see the fireworks.

I took these on my cell phone - not to bad.

Saturday was the Civil War walking tour at Bellefontaine Cemetary. I had an amazing time - the cemetery is stunning and the history lesson was nothing like your high school history class. I will be signing up for more tours. The tour was 3 hours and covered a little of 2 miles. We saw and learned about 60 individuals but in reality, only saw 1% of the cemetery.

These were also taken using my cell phone.

Sunday I really just puttered around my apartment - I got up worked out, cleaned house a little then watched some TV and later in the afternoon caught up on my favorite podcast at the moment.  I did dig out my little digital camera and charge it up so that I can also use that for capturing my adventures. While a cell phone is handy and these days takes amazing pictures - I also like my little digital camera. One of these days I will pick up a DSLR and get back into photography.

Easy Weekends

I love easy relaxed weekends. The biggest thing I did was Friday night - I rearranged my living room. Chilled out watching some YouTube videos - these days my favorite are just the vlogging  or the true crime channels. Set on auto play and just go - gotta love the Roku.

Saturday was run to Wal-Mart for a few things, I needed another lamp for the living room and some cleaning supplies. I also made some energy bites for next week. Saturday afternoon and evening was a Netflix and Amazon Prime streaming night. I watched Deadpool 2 again and then a few other movies - including "The Package" skip it, its as bad as it sounds - high school humor - and not good humor. That is 2 hours of my life I will regret not spending watching something better!!

My Jeep is equipped with Sirius so I signed up for a trial - I've used it on a limited basis before with rentals but I have a 2 month trial so might as well use it. I figure I spend a LOT of time in my jeep I might as well have the music I like and way less of the commercials and chatter.

Sunday was a do nothing - well more of nothing except a quick run to the nail salon and more watching YouTube. I probably should have ran to Aldi's for groceries but meh it did not happen. I'll go later.  This is my first chill weekend in a while and next weekend will be busy so I might as well take full advantage of the down time. Last weekend was the Annual Bitches Weekend and the one before that I was so sick I didn't know my own name. Next weekend is the Civil War walking tour in the cemetery then that night a haunted float trip down in Rolla.

Hope y'all had a great weekend!!

Weekending and Stuffs

I had an amazing weekend - it was one of those I could use another weekend to recover from the weekend type weekend. I m so freaking tired today.

Saturday was a good friends birthday and we celebrated by going to a winery in Columbia MO that overlooks the Mississippi river.   This place was gorgeous and the weather amazing. We opted to eat there on the property.

The food and wine were amazing. I may have brought home a bottle that tastes like a lemon bar.  I have been good however and it has not been uncorked - YET.

Sunday was just a chill but get a few errands done type of day - It rained off and on all day.  The thermostat and a radiator hose on my can needed changed out, so that got done. It will be nice not to have to deal with the car overheating and all the coolant leaking out.  Unfortunately, the handwriting is on the wall and I need to start looking for a new car - my poor ol girl is tired.  She's been a wonderful car - I have had her since 2003.

Sunday was also the start of the prep for "bitches labor day weekend" it hass been a few years since we have had one so we are all getting together at the farm this year.  The prep into the homemade moonshine has started. Thus far there is some lemon drop and green apple that is mixed up and in jars to mellow.  In a few weeks, the peach cobbler will be made. Right now they are pretty in your face - I am hoping they simmer down.

How was your weekend??

Monday and Shit...

Why is the first full week back after a short week seem to be the WORST only second to the last day of work before a vacation..  Anyhow... A little over 1 month and I will be on vacation for my grandbaby's birth... Man that went fast! I can't believe she will be here in 5 weeks.

This weekend was a hodgepodge of things Saturday I ran errands, got my nails done and watched the British Royals weekend on Reelz - little know fact I am an avid Royal watcher. Have been since I was 8 and Lady Diana became Princess Diana. I lived overseas then and have been a huge fan ever since. We will NOT even mention my huge Rubbermaid tote of Diana collectibles.

Sunday I decided I was tired of having my race medals just hanging on a coat hook on the back of the closet door and set out to go to Michael's for crafting supplies.. At first I had in my mind that I would hang both my race bibs and finishers medals. Then I got home an realized that just wasn't gonna happen - so next weekend I will be doing the board for the bibs.  Here are the pics I have from start to finish - I don't have one of the medals on it yet as I wanted the paint to fully dry first. Note my helper..

Soon I will have two more to add to it.. I finished part 4 of the Alice Adventures and then started the "Shake your Tailfeather" 78.5 mile challenge.

Mad Hatter - this medal is at home waiting for me to get it out of the mailbox..

Shake your Tailfeather

I did finally trade my FitBit One in and got a FitBit Alta - OMG I am in love.. I did not think I would like a wrist band but this one is so sleek and light I am loving it. I also like the upgraded features.

I also finished season 4 of Orange is the New Black - I won't post spoilers bit I will say I am STILL bawling - the only other show to make me cry that had was the SOA series finale, and I am still NOT okay with that one!

Whoops its Been Two Months ...

Not sure where the past two months went but ummm oops.  I have been busy with work spearheading a new project that started before Thanksgiving and continuing for a while into the near year.  I did take the week off between Christmas and New Years to do not much of anything but relax have fun and chill.

I think the only thing that I didn't get done while I was off was a massage - that will be coming up. I did get a mani in the middle of the day which just seemed super strange.  I also got into see my hair stylist and came out with pink and blonde hair. Which I am totally loving. Its been super fun.

I also managed to get my ass to the doctor and get an annual physical for the first time in about 4 years..... oops I need to call tomorrow to get my blood work results back.

I also started looking into taking classes at night to get my certification for makeup artistry.  Which I am super excited about. Getting my pro card would be such a thrill. Long term goal get my pro card then start working up the ranks.

This weekend was a mix of busy and chill. Saturday I spent the day with my sister in law. We went to the jewelry store and checked into getting some of her rings reworked and reset. Then we hit lunch, shopping grabbed a movie then dinner and a bit more shopping.  Sunday was a mix of lounging and working on a few things I brought home from the office to get a jump on next week.  especially since I came back from vacation worked two days then spent the next two days in bed sick.

I didn't really make any new years resolutions I generally don't but I do have some goals to work on. I am wanting to get back into blogging - though the blog may start to focus heavily on makeup and beauty.

I need to check out of social media a tad and back into reading more.

I want to start night classes to get my certification and work toward my procard.

I am working on less stress and conflict this year.

I am also getting back into fitness.

How have y'all been?? Goals for 2016? Life updates?

I Need Another Day Between Saturday and Sunday ...

Don't we all really.. Seriously though three day weekends every week would be awesome right.. I will say Saturday I did pretty much jack shit. Which frankly, I am fine with. Thing is now I have laundry still to do as  Sunday we took little man and hit the Ren Fest.. Whoa what a workout lol. Chasing a 3 year old around outside with all those people.  We had a blast though.

Next week is looking busy. I just reviewed emails for work and we are rolling out new goals for the team. So I have a few new things to accomplish each week. My roll has never been a "billable" one persay I am strictly management, the new goal however is for me to get a couple billable hours in each week. Which in reality shouldn't be a struggle.

Personally I will be attempting to reorganize my two hall closets purge some more unused items. Get the laundry caught back up, and hit the gym. I need to get my fall and winter blazers to the cleaners. I have one I should replace. I have a hair appointment Thursday I am looking forward to. Its time to refresh those roots lol. I am also excited my shows are coming back. That is seriously the ONLY good thing about September. The Voice comes back tomorrow and Scandal and Grey's Anatomy on Thursday - which will be DVR-ed and watched Friday. I also have a book I have to finish this week and get the review submitted.

Whats on your schedule for this coming week??

Weekend Shenanigans

How is it Sunday already???

Friday night was hanging with Lil Man. Building train tracks and walls with mega blocks.  Generally just hanging out having a good time .

One of these days I will find another TV stand.. That one just isn't cutting it anymore..

Saturday I woke up to my Twitter notifications going off like crazy.. The new Princess of Cambridge was born!!  Yes I had Twitter alerts set - nope not sorry. I grew up in Europe and have been a HUGE fan of the British Royal Family for decades.  Then the announcement was made that the Family would be going home 12 hours after thy checked in and I pulled up the live feed - this was me Saturday - Watching the live feed and a movie on the TV.

I even took the laptop in the bathroom with me to watch while I did my hair and makeup to get ready to hit the Royals game. Nope - still not freaking sorry..

The New Princess..

This is my favorite tribute to the Royal birth yet. The Tower Bridge lit up pink - its so pretty..

It looks like a pretty pink tiara all lit up..

Saturday afternnon/evening found us at Kaufman Stadium for The Royals game. It was bobblehead night. Well the first of 4 bobblehead game and we picked up this guy - after a minor snafu

My favorite part of the stadium is the fountains - especially at night..

Sunday is just a chill day relaxing and getting ready for the next week. Sitting back watching movies, an easy dinner of a clean eating chicken chopped salad. Maybe do a load of laundry maybe not.

How do you spend your Sundays? Relaxed or packing in some last minute weekend activities??

Annndddddd it's Monday

Really wasn't Friday like 7 minutes ago?? Its also the last full week of March - yeah let that sink in.. Oh and Easter is next weekend.  I'm telling y'all stop blinking!

Friday night was low key grab stay in catch up on some shows and just chill. It was a late night for me, I really need to get better at staying on schedule with my Melatonin on the weekends. It was about 2 am when I decided it was time to go to sleep.  Until then I worked on my genealogy. I have discovered that my ancestors really didn't have much to do but farm and fornicate! So far the biggest of the bunch is a couple with 17 children.  Wow just sayin...

I also have found a cousin - which for me is a HUGE deal.  I grew up with it just being me, mom and my dad. My sisters were all out of the house and being in the military we moved around .... A LOT.  I would not trade the travel for anything, but it did foster the feeling of a very small bubble.  There were no huge family holidays or gatherings. There was not a sense of camaraderie with me and and cousins or brothers and sisters. There was just me. Probably why I am so fiercely independent as an adult.  So the finding of a cousin and extended family thrilled me to no end. I am able to give her the info she needs on the younger generation and she can fill in the holes I have on the later generations.

Saturday was take your mother, her dog and 3 suitcases to the airport day. What a fucking circus. It ended up being a 5 hour ordeal and ending with a migraine. Short story - I had to purchase a different pet carrier from Southwest - even though the one my mom had originally bought DID fit the dimensions list on the website for the airline the agents determined it WOULD never fit under the seat. So now its take your mom 3 suitcases, her dog and and extra carrier to the airport day.

Mom had to have a wheelchair which meant I had to run back to the Southwest counter and get an escort pass so that I could get her and her dog and her carry on through TSA and boarded. Which now meant I had to go through TSA.  They made me take the dog out of the carrier, then picked me for a hand swab and wasn't happy the dog did NOT want shoved back in that tiny ass bag for the 3rd time. Finally get Mom through that and get her situated up front so the attendants will board her first. This little can you drop me off at the airport was a 5 hour long exercise in patience.  Thankfully getting her back on the plane at LAX is my sisters issue!

Sunday I woke up with the migraine still alive and beating the hell out of my brain. I did a lot of lounging around and catching up on The Voice battle rounds. That afternoon I did a few loads of laundry and cleaned house. Thankfully it was a pretty laid back chill day. Especially with this week gearing up to be a busy balls to the walls week.

Dude Where'd my Week Go?

Last week was a strange week. Coming out of the weekend and our company Christmas party half the company got food poisoning. So last week was spent with 4 of us up and working while the rest of the company wondered what evil got a hold of them .

Thursday night D and I went to the Mythbuster Behind the Myth show. I grabbed tickets about 5 months ago as a Christmas present for him. If you get a chance to see the show and science is your thing don't hesitate just GO it was an awesome show and possibly a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Before the show we hit up Flying Saucers for dinner and drinks - its a German pub tucked in a corner of downtown.  Neither of us had heard of it before - and D's a native so that sucker is hidden well. I get why. The regulars  probably don't want to lose "their" bar. Its a neat little place with some great craft beer and food. I can't wait to go back and try some of their bratwurst platters!

Friday I had taken the day off from work - most of the day I hung out with the cutest lil boy in the world. I did run a few errands the few hours he was with his Great Grandma but most of the day we snuggled down on the couch and watch Christmas Specials on NickJr all day.

The weekend was pretty much just hanging with Lil Man..  Saturday evening he hung out with Craig and D and I had dinner and hung out with friends until it was time to pick up Peep from work at 1 am. Sunday we took him for lunch at Burger King then over to the mall to the play area and Zonkers to ride the train. Unfortunately Sunday evening we had a short stop at the local ER.

Leaving the mall Lil Man did NOT want to go so he did the toddler thing and decided to just go limp as Papaw and I had his hands crossing the parking lot. He ended up with whats called Nursemaid's Elbow. The Doctor at the Er was beyond fab. He actually came out to the waiting room popped his arm back into place. Lil Man then high fived him and said "wow I feels all betters now". It was instant. The doctor then said I will have them take you out of the system like you were never here Merry Christmas..

We then hit Cold Stone Creamery for ice cream for dinner, because well an ER visit of course!!!

A few weekend pics!

Friday night - I rarely wear lipstick much less red..

The train he did NOT want to leave

Ahhh all betters - even more so with a chocolate dipped waffle bowl!

Holiday Weekend Shenangans

Seriously wasn't it?  Busy long weekend at my house.. Wednesday I worked from home while the car was in the repair shop - almost a freaking grand later... Cracked radiator and a stuck thermostat.

Thursday I cooked a turkey dinner for our house - Mya had to work that day at 4:45 and my sister in law wasn't doing the regular family dinner until 6 so I cooked for Mya and my Mom who didn't want to travel out that late - she's 72 she gets pass- got our dinner cooked and served then started cooking what I needed to go over to my sister in law's.  Lil Man had a blast with his cousins and ran non stop for about 3 hours.  We got home and he pretty much just passed out for the night.

The rest of the weekend we pretty much just chilled - I did not go shopping Black Friday I did grab a few things Saturday after I went to get my hair done. Then grabbed Lil Man some stuff when I dropped his mom off for work Sunday.

D and I snuck in a movie Saturday night. We went to see Intersteller.  Its a long movie - 2 hours and 48 minutes - honestly the last 48 minutes are a total mind fuck. We left saying "Did I really just see that" and "huh".

Sunday was just a chill day - most of it spent like this...

Weekend Shenanigans

YES! Short week this week.. Just have to get through Wednesday and then 4 day weekend!!!

I got my card exchange cards done this weekend... Now this is not your typical holiday card exchange. They are generally snarky cards  so these were perfect.. Yeah I know I have a really fucking warped sense of humor.. I get it - shits still funny...

Yes that is Charles Manson and his soon to be bride...  So remember when you want to strangle your Great Aunt Edna over turkey gravy things could always be soooo much worse..  You could be this man's father in law...

Saturday night D and I actually did make it to see MockingJay Part 1. With us watching Lil Man while his mom works, date night have been creative. Yes we went at 11 pm to see a 2 hour movie.. It was worth it - awesome movie.

Anymore its gotten to where I won't see a movie unless it is playing either at Fork and Screen or Cinema Suites. I love that I can log on to AMC  purchase the tickets - pick the seats and then just go. Since its assigned seating I do nothave to worry about getting there in time for a GOOD seat - which by the way is the last row center section LOL.

Apparently last call is at 11:30 - so right before that our server brought us extra cokes and an extra bag of popcorn to last us until 1 am..

Sunday I got up at 10 and straightened up the house and got ready to meet a friend of mine at noon at Michaels for card making supplies. We then proceeded to sit at the kitchen table for several hours chatting, joking around and laughing our way through making 35 cards each.. While we did that Lil Man sat at the table coloring the Dora coloring book I grabbed while I was at the store..

I was hoping to end the evening with the AMA's and a glass of wine.. I had paperwork and water instead! Here is to a 3 day work week and hoping I get to watch the AMA's I have on DVR sometime during that 4 day weekend!

40 Something Weekends

Remember weekends in your 20's? Non stop partying, girls night out Friday maybe a date on Saturday then brunch with the girls ala Sex in the City.. Yeah not so much when you get older. In your twenties you bounce back immediately - not so when your 40. Now if you do that you will need two days vacation/sick time from work to recover!

The 40 something weekend looks way different. Friday night we grilled out with friends as the weather was kick ass this weekend. Then we watched game 3 of the world series. We were home by midnight. Yeah I didn't go to bed until 1 am but I was home in sweats by midnight watching TV. Catching up on my DVR. I have been watching Kendra - wow that is hard to watch. I could not imaging going through that much less filming it all.

Saturday we took Lil Man to the park to blow off some steam.(I took no pictures, I had put the phone away and concentrated on being IN the moment) We ran around for a few hours then hit Perkins - he wanted pancakes. At the moment pancakes are his favorite. He asks for them at EVERY meal. Since he was with Noni and Papaw he got chocolate chip pancakes and half my omelet sausage and potatoes LOL.  We got home about 2:30 and he crashed hard.

I got hit with a migraine so I also laid down and ended up taking a short nap after hitting the pain relievers and the coffee (I hadn't had any yet that day). Thankfully it only took a few hours to ease. When I got up and was able to see clearly I started planning the weeks meals. When I actually sit down and plan evenings go so much easier than when I hit the store and toss a bunch of crap in the cart thinking yeah I can make something outta all this. It also stops the dreaded "Whats for dinner question" I HATE trying to figure that out after a 10 hour day.

Saturday night we hit Walmart and got the grocery shopping done.  Yep 10 pm and we were out grocery shopping. It was way better than Sunday afternoons at Walmart. There were no screaming kids or pissy people. Still took an hour but it was a way better experience. I got everything we needed and wasn't stressed.

Sunday was so laid back, since we did everything Saturday I was able to just chill. I tossed a ham in the crockpot at noon watched some TV, surfed the internet and played with Lil Man until it was time to finish dinner. We had some ham, mashed sweet potatoes and corn. Its been a long time since I have cooked an actual Sunday dinner.

How was your weekend? Have you noticed a change from your 20's to your 30's and beyond on how your weekends are used??

And Like that the Weekend was GONE.....

That blur that just went by, yeah it was my weekend LOL! How was yours?

I can't believe there are only 11 weeks left in this year.. It really IS true; the older you get the faster time goes. NOT FAIR!!!  I have not even begun to thing about the holiday's except for "oh shit, they are almost here".

So what did you do this weekend?

Friday night D and I grabbed a coffee and went for a drive downtown.  Right now its pretty exciting in downtown KC. EVERYTHING is lit up blue, makes for a gorgeous night drive. JC Nicols fountain is normally dyed pink in October - not this year its Royal blue. While I do love a pink fountain the blue is pretty freaking sweet.

Saturday morning I dealt with a plumbing issue at my mothers - her hot water tank did not want to light and stay lit. Thankfully an old school plumber was able to fix the switch for the pilot light. She will need a new hot water heater soon though. Apparently those really only last about 12 - 15 years, hers is 22 years old. Damn thing is a $1000.00. This is why I rent!!!

Saturday afternoon we took Lil Man for a hair cut, to lunch then the pet store. We needed a few things and the pet store is his favorite place. Between the fish and the puppies he is always a happy camper.

That evening we hung out built some mega lego's towers and watched movies.  Poor guy was worn out and fell asleep on me watching Monsters Inc.

Sunday morning we just hung out in jammes. I made sausage gravy and biscuits for the first time in a longgggg time. Then Sunday afternoon D and ran some errands - he needed new shoes. I found a pair as well (I know shocker)! Ran to the store for dinner items and then just chilled. Had chicken salads with roasted sweet potatoes and peppers - trust me the sweet potatoes in this salad are awesome - watched last weeks Secretary of State and got ready for the week ahead.  D started a new job this morning so having everything ready for this morning was key.

Let's go rock this week!

Weekend Odds and Ends ....

Hi there Sunday evening. Now that my stress level is coming back down to normal I don't dread Sunday nights as much.  Work is still uber busy however somethings have been rearranged so that I am no longer pulling oncall. That right there is a HUGE relief to me. Honestly the extra funds were nice but the stress I felt was not. So I have pulled back.

Friday night was a low key order pizza and play video games until 1 am. Its been awhile since I played Alice The Madness Returns - like almost a year - awhile. It was nice to eat to much and then go around breaking shit and killing bad guys. I need to play more often. Maybe then I can justify buying a pink controller ;-)

Saturday we pretty much just hung out at home until the evening when we headed out to friends to chill. Just about there when I get a text that my Lil Man wants his Nini - so my Daughter and grandbaby joined us. Our friends live across the street from my sister in law who happens to have a trampoline in her back yard. In an effort to entertain Lil Man I took him over there. Wanna feel old - jump with a 2 year old on the trampoline for an hour - shit you did NOT know you had will hurt when you climb down. I however had a freakin blast and he loved it. I have now decided he needs his own in my mothers back yard - she has one I don't or it would be in mine.

Sunday afternoon D and I hit 5 Guys Burgers and had the last over the top meal for awhile - Tomorrow its back to clean eating - actually Sunday's dinner was clean so there's that. I also had to run over to Ulta and get a new flat iron. My beloved Chi died. One of the heating elements in one plate went out. Apparently I have had mine longer than most. Its been 4 years and I guess they generally last 2 maybe 3.

This time I picked up a Hot Tools titanium iron that I have fallen in love with - I can control the heat and adjust as necessary. This thing gets up to 450 degrees. My Chi topped out at 392 and that was the set temp no matter what your hair texture is. It now makes sense to me why thin haired ladies do not like. My thick coarse curly hair needs the high temp. Though my stylist did inform me I was NOT to crank that bad boy up to 450. She will be happy to know that 400 does the job just fine..

Now to relax with some ice tea and a little reading...

Weekend Wrap up

Then we blinked and it was Monday again LOL... The weekend goes by so fast anymore.

Friday night we did dinner with my in-laws as an early Mothers Day with mom. We hit our favorite Mexican joint and had an nice time just catching up.  My Mother in Law is a little hard to buy for so I was thrilled she liked her Vera Bradley quilted tote and matching wallet.  It helps is was purple - her favorite color!!

Saturday I ran a bunch of errands while D worked. I had a purse to return that I bought online and when it came it was way to small for anything. I also did some shopping. Last week I won a gift card from a fitness challenge from Earnd It. It was a first for me.  I picked up a few clothing items from Kohl's and then picked an item I would always have as a reminder.

I love this ring - photos do not do it justice.  I also dropped by the nail salon and did something I rarely do, I cut off my nails and went for a light polish.. I'm having a heck of a time dealing with my nails being this short! It will be awhile before I get that urge again!  I'm loving the light pink polish though.

Sunday I took my mom out for Mother's Day. She wanted to go to lunch and a movie. We went to see The Other Woman. It was a pretty good movie, perfect girls night out flick. I opted for the Fork and Screen option as Mom hadn't really done that. I was hoping for the deluxe Cinema Suits viewing but the movie she requested wasn't showing in that set. I thought she would have really liked the recliners.

Her reaction to what I had put together for her gift was priceless. Since all the photos everyone has of little man are all digital she had been complaining she did not have any physical photos of her great grand baby. At 72 shes not impressed with showing them off on a device, she wants prints!! So prints she got.

I printed off a ton of photos from birth to two weeks ago when Papaw and I took him to the Aquarium and put them in a album for her. She was beyond thrilled and proceeded to show them off to anyone around her at the theater..

After the movie I headed over to the shoe store in search of dressy sandals. I cam home with these babies - totally in love. They are beyond comfortable and have a wedge heel that is not insane but higher than young girl "starter heels" as I call them.

How was your weekend?
