End of Another Weekend and another Summer - Weekend Shenanigans

Saturday was officially the first day of Fall - the weather knew it as well it was so mild out. Mid 70's light breeze and I did laundry and made the 1st pan of homemade jambalaya. Apparently the Cardinals won their game - I can NOT get Royals games here to save my life - they tease you, will show  you the pregame all the interviews and then right as you think ok mayyybeeeee... Then BAM a really rude blackout screen that says NOPE not happening. Ok well maybe it says, This game is blacked out in your viewing area  RUDE AF. It is cable to boot its not like I am trying to fake a local channel into showing it.

Saturday night I vegged in front of the TV and watched Jurassic World and Infinity Wars both pretty good movies. I'm trying to not just dismiss movies with a "not my thing" and watch them anyhow. I am glad I watch both of these they were pretty good. I do have to admit to being jumping in parts of Jurassic World too! I have realized I have not one clue about a lot of the back stories in the various comic book movies so I was a little "huh" at how some of them related - so I aim to fix that as it was a really good movie.

Sunday I played a few rounds Words with Friends watched some more TV then went and washed and did a quick detail on the Jeep. I really needed to get the bugs off from last months KC trip then the drive to the farm for the girls weekend. Sunday was pretty much the perfect lazy day with just enough getting done so that you felt like you were not a total bum. Though I do LOVE a total lazy bum Sunday - planning one next Sunday actually!

Hope your weekend was what you needed it to be - whatever that was, either totally productive or lazy as can be. Both are good - balance is key!

Labor Day in the Rearview Mirror

Another Labor Day weekend come and gone. Have you the noticed days are just a tad shorter? Kids are back to school, there is more traffic on the commute. Starbucks has released the pumpkin spiced everything already. I bet you blinked - and are now wondering where it all went.

Soon the leaves will turn then fall from the trees as ghosts and goblins excitedly run from door to door yelling trick or treat and squealing at what they receive. Before you know it the family talk of whos bringing what to Thanksgiving will start. Then at Thanksgiving, the dinner conversation will generally head in the direction of "What do you need/want for Christmas?

Slow down take a breath and remember why you do what you do. Don't get so busy creating this life that you forget to have a life.  Before you know it everything is different, the kids are grown, nothing looks how it did and you swear all you did is close your eyes for a second.

Still Busted up and Broken

Yep, yesterday's work out was to much. I ended the day on an ice pack and pain pills watching The Voice then the Black List and live tweeting them both... DAMNIT. Really tired of this. It gets very old and frustrating to move and suddenly have your back go out and pain hit so bad you end up on your knees trying to catch your breath.

Going to have to go way back to basics and just start with walking in the evenings until this back issue clears up. I just miss my yoga, kick boxing and lifting work outs dangit! I had to drop out of a 12 week challenge I was doing and that bums me out as well. One day at a time right..

This has just been a very slow process and I am stressed out in a big way. Generally when I am stressed I hit the workouts, but what do you do when the workouts hit back and your in to much pain to do them?? This is what I am trying to figure out. I have another appointment tomorrow and will ask my Doctor then what I can do, how to ease back in and what the best approach to take is...

When I am able to I have been walking laps around the parking lot at my office during breaks - this morning I saw this little fellow.. Checking me out as I was checking him out.. He sat there for a good 10 minutes before turning around, looking back at me and flying off..

Speaking of taking it back to basics - my first day of Fall (bleck) outfit. Even went old school with the Jackie O pearls... Everyones all oohhhh Fall, boots, sweaters, pumpkin spice and I am over here going damn I have to put on real shoes, like with socks and everything...

Photo Dump

I got asked why I always wear dark clothing and was it a "gothy" reason. Nope I just have always liked darker colors. Even when I am not wearing black, navy, or grey I go toward the jewel tones.

This is why people in the Midwest deal with crappy winters...

I saw this at Wal-Mart ... I WILL go get one for my office. Everyone needs a 2 and a half foot tall Darth Vader!

I went to pick up some new supplements and saw this... I will admit to laughing like a boy in 4th grade who's teacher just "pooted" at the blackboard.

This is what I picked up to see if it helps my knees better than the glucoseamine - so far YES it does. Side benefit - my skin is also seriously benefiting.

This is the back of my couch - He is slowing killing that cushion.. Though as I was told on Facebook by a friend - I won't think about that couch once it is gone.. Just my baby on it.. She's right which is how it's easier to ignore the leg of the couch he has shredded as well..

Mostly clean eating!

2nd Day of Fall and Monday Ramblings

So yesterday brought Fall ... it was a gorgeous day light breeze, sunshine and 80 degrees out - totally my type of Fall day! Today is a repeat. I could honestly handle year around temps like these and be a content and happy girl!

The past few weeks I've been a bit discombobulated without any real reason for it that I can tell. Maybe its just because we have been on the go so much and for so long.  My attention span is shot and my get up and go got up and left.

Saturday I attempted to clean house - I had really wanted to tear it apart and do a deep clean. How it really went down was more like ADD cleaning a little in this room a little in that room. I did get the living room done but not the front hall closet or much of anything else. The kitchen table has become a catch all for everything again.

Next weekend I think its time to "go off the grid" again for a while and recharge.  I think the only thing I am looking forward to about Winter is that things slow down. Its cold and no one really wants to go anywhere or do anything. The fire place gets lit and movies tossed in the DVD player or a book read. Now that I can't wait for!

I have a 5k coming up next weekend that I am so not ready for it looks like ton of fun, but I am a tad worried about my knee especially since I did NOT see the inside of the gym for most of the summer. YIKES.  I also need to stop at the sporting good store and get a band for my knee to see if that helps the knee cap stay where its suppose to and maybe cut down on the "clicking" it does.

WOW What a Weekend

I'd call for a mulligan but I'm afraid it would get worse..

Friday night we just chilled at home with a pizza and a Redbox rental and  fixed The Hubs laptop - his browser had been hijacked by a search engine tool bar (nasty ass things).

Saturday evening we went to my sister in laws to chill hang up friends and play video's - was going really well until 10:20 pm when I got a call from my mom saying she had fallen and needed help. I made a 20 minute drive in about 10 minutes. Got home (she was at my house watching lil man) and she had fallen keeping lil man from falling through the gate dividing the kitchen and living room.

Her glass are bent to hell and back - they have cut her face pretty good - she had to have 9 stitches - right by her eye, and her eye is black. Honestly it looks like she went 5 rounds with Mike Tyson.

Sunday I ran mom's car back to her (I had to driver her to the ER in her car, mine sits to low for her) then headed to my office for a few hours of work.  Then just vegged - I'm wore out.  I should have cleaned house but meh - just did not have the energy - I had picked up a little on Saturday so that's just going to have to do - I am positive no elf is going to sneak and do it so it will be waiting for me.

I have not gotten a workout in all weekend - back at it Monday.

How was your weekend??

And the weekend is here and I am random today..

Its the 10K weekend.. Going to pick up my packet tomorrow - race is early Sunday morning.  Went last night and got a new hair style of sorts - we changed up the color and tamed the bob back down (that sounded way dirty lol) I was wearing the back messy and slightly spiked so that's what she calmed down.   She added the red back into my hair - for the longest time we just highlighted.

I'm tuning in satellite radio here - Sirrus anyone??

The back is red as well at the bottom - I just don't like the picture where the back shows LOL - I do love that where the blonde goes into the red it looks pink!

I need to update my measurements this weekend - I'm debating on if I should do that on Monday or Sat. Its been 6 weeks since I took them so its time.

Fall hit - boo hiss I am a summer girl I love the warmer weather and less layers my favorite shirt is a ribbed tank with cutoff shorts and flip flops..  yeah yeah sweaters and boots I get it - I just don't want it!

After Sunday I am starting the Ripped in 30 on the days I don't have baby duty - on the days I do the Hubs can hang with lil man for an hour while I hit the treadmill.

Speaking of lil man - holy hell he is going to be 4 months soon -( next Friday actually, so I'll have to get a new pic of him up) ... WTF - I'm not sure where the time went - I swear it moves faster with grandbabies than it does your kids.

Told you I was completely random today my brain went into ADD mode this morning at 6:20 am and has been on overtime ever since.

And this is post #99! Have a great weekend..

Thursday Musings - 6 Weeks into Stay at Home Orders

I seriously can not believe we have been "sheltering in place" for 6 freaking weeks now, and I say this as an "I'd rather...
