Where I Have Been ... Life Currently

ACK so its been a hot minute - I have been more active on soical media though so you can always find me on Instagram, Twitter and Snapchat....

My grandbaby was born Aug 19th - oh my stars is she so sweet!! I have spent a lot of time with her and Little Man just chillin.  I've also been spending a lot of time with one of my close friends - shes been having some issues with her newly teenage daughter - wooo been there I nod and hand her vodka ;-).

We go to the gym and take it out on the weights and treadmill. I joined Planet Fitness - I went to the gym at the complex and discovered the weight machine had been broken got pissed and went to Planet Fitness' website and joined.  Lets be honest - the hydro-massage bed is worth the membership fee alone!  We generally meet up 4 times a week work out for an hour hit the massage bed and chat before heading out.

My intention for my blog is to venture more into makeup and fashion with a tad bit of lifestyle thrown in.  Right now I am researching some courses for my certificate and document that journey as well.  I'd like to get a vlogger camera and start vlogging so I am also researching those and trying to find the best one for videos.  Mic quality is a big issue with those, so I am reading reviews and recommendations and reading more reviews.

I will be working on a Fall favorites post soon.  I know I missed both August and September - honestly I didn't have to much to review and the new stuff I have I had not used the products enough to decide if I liked them - much less a favorites status.

I looked at Fall trends to blog on those - frankly Fall 2016 looks just like Fall 2015.. Though I can't say I am mad at it either.  I love last years brown lipsticks and gray tones.  Fashion also looks very similar to last Fall - which looked like the 90's.. I'm rocking the hell out of those looks as well..  I'm happy to have ripped jeans, off the shoulder shirts and distressed Tees! Honestly the grungy glam look is my favorite - so at the moment I just look like I am on point..

Get Back UP

Its never to late to Get Back UP - lately I have been eating what I want still in moderation but no where near clean or healthy and the gym has been a distant memory.. Biggest Loser started its new season last night and I am kick starting the healthy again myself.  I have more energy when I am kind to myself by being conscious of what I am putting in my mouth and by moving my body.

While I haven't gained anything major I have lost some of the tone I had worked to get... UGGGGGG I HATE starting over and yet here I am starting over again... Good thing is its never to late to reboot or even reload your OS (sorry geek talk spilling out).

I have had the same excuses everyone else does - to tired to busy to many responsibilities to deal with it right now.  Here's the deal ... Yes I am busy, yes I have a lot going on BUT I owe myself the same consideration and dedication I'd give to anyone, in fact I owe myself more.  I deserve to be healthy, feel amazing and even look good. Yes I OWE myself all of that. Frankly so do you. You owe it to yourself to get off your couch and move to watch what your putting in your body and even how you spend your time.

So what nice things have you done for YOU?

2nd Day of Fall and Monday Ramblings

So yesterday brought Fall ... it was a gorgeous day light breeze, sunshine and 80 degrees out - totally my type of Fall day! Today is a repeat. I could honestly handle year around temps like these and be a content and happy girl!

The past few weeks I've been a bit discombobulated without any real reason for it that I can tell. Maybe its just because we have been on the go so much and for so long.  My attention span is shot and my get up and go got up and left.

Saturday I attempted to clean house - I had really wanted to tear it apart and do a deep clean. How it really went down was more like ADD cleaning a little in this room a little in that room. I did get the living room done but not the front hall closet or much of anything else. The kitchen table has become a catch all for everything again.

Next weekend I think its time to "go off the grid" again for a while and recharge.  I think the only thing I am looking forward to about Winter is that things slow down. Its cold and no one really wants to go anywhere or do anything. The fire place gets lit and movies tossed in the DVD player or a book read. Now that I can't wait for!

I have a 5k coming up next weekend that I am so not ready for it looks like ton of fun, but I am a tad worried about my knee especially since I did NOT see the inside of the gym for most of the summer. YIKES.  I also need to stop at the sporting good store and get a band for my knee to see if that helps the knee cap stay where its suppose to and maybe cut down on the "clicking" it does.

Caught up with an old friend last night.... and the last few days of Summer

I finally got my ass back to the gym last night. Its been a crazy Summer and I really had no motivation to get off the couch after working all day. So last night I pretty much forced myself to go. Thing is I think I slept better and work up with more energy - its a hell of a cycle being to tired to go to the gym but the gym will give you more energy.

So this is what my stats on fitbit showed at the end of the day, yes (I went to bed at 10:16) - been a long time since I have seen anything close to this..

Yeah I'm still no doing stairs those are just the ones I am forced to go up in order to get in my front door. I go down them all day a work, but my left knee still hurts way to much going up so I rarely hit that step goal of 10 flights - which in fitbit world is 1 flight for every 10 feet in elevation you walk up.

So according to the calendar we have 3 days left of the Summer season - according to the weather man this morning I have 1 - just 1. Then a cold front comes in. I'm kinda sad about that. I love freaking love Summer. Shorts, tank tops, warm nights hanging out with friends sitting out talking until way to late. Sigh - that just doesn't happen much in Winter where I live, its too cold.

However in the spirit of being positive and being in the moment I am going to try to not complain (too much) about the weather and the short days, lack of sunshine, being cold all the time etc... Besides this was in my email and its a good reminder..

If summer resisted fall, KayLynn, it wouldn't really be summer or fall.

Better to celebrate the season you're in... especially those of your wonderful life.

Everything keeps getting better,

So in the spirit of that - I am looking forward to pumpkin stuff - ie pumpkin pie, pumpkin rolls. Oh and boots and leggings! As well as my favorite shows being back on TV.

What are you looking forward to??

Midweek - Amid chaos

This week has kicked off a super busy time at the office. We have quite a few major projects going all around and are booked into September. Good problem to have right? It just seems like we are all going Mach 10.

In the midst of all this I find out my mom may have to have surgery smack dab in the middle of our busiest summer yet. We will know for sure in a few weeks. Thing about this surgery is after she will not be mobile for about 12 weeks - no driving no grocery shopping no nothing except foot up resting and physical therapy maybe.

So I will be taking care of my household, all the projects that are going on at my office and her household.  I think this will be a great time to take up boxing at the local boxing club. I say this because I am not allowed to express any type of stress or frustration in front of my mother, she takes it personally and turns into a martyr - a southern MOM martyr with Catholic mom guilt. See where I am going with this? *Shudder* I don't have time for intensive therapy, so maybe the boxing will prevent that..

I haven't been so conscience about going to the gym so I know that is impacting just how stressed and overwhelmed I am feeling. I'm headed there tonight..

Have a good one y'all.....

Thursday Musings - 6 Weeks into Stay at Home Orders

I seriously can not believe we have been "sheltering in place" for 6 freaking weeks now, and I say this as an "I'd rather...
