First June Weekend - Weekending Linkup

I spent this weekend at the farm and had a blast Lots of activity there were about 20 of us and 9 dogs. Saturday morning we woke up and hit the car show. Rt 66 is in the middle of Rolla so I got a few cool pictures. This was my view Saturday morning waking up slowly..

Then we hit Rt 66

Yes, the pink car is, by far my, favorite.  That after we went back to the farm - there is a natural
pool there and a few went swimming - honestly, I attempted to nap, hard to do in a house with that many people - but I did try like hell!!

Saturday night we grilled out and then played Cards Against Humanity - I had a little helper.

I ended Sunday properly..  Ignore the bottle cap - it's a cat toy..

Welcome Back to the 5 am Club and a Weekend Wrap Up

Workouts have pretty much been non existent since Spring. I have been dealing with chronic low back pain that even made walking a nightmare. The cause? That blasted memory foam bed! I loved it when we first got it, it was also the dead on winter. This summer when the temps and humidity went through the roof, any support that mattress had went to hell. Apparently this is a common issue for people.  It just didn't pop up on my internet searches when I researched that damn memory foam mattress!

Since body heat is what the mattress interacts with in warmer climates they get way to soft and your pretty much sleeping on melted marshmallow. Add in the fact that when you are sleeping so are any of your natural "ouch that hurt" defenses, stir and you have me in severe pain all summer.

I finally gave in and went to my Chiropractor and bought a new mattress. I'm still having twitches of pain here and there but nothing like the previous 3 months. So I set the alarm this morning for 5 am and gave yoga a shot. Talk about starting over from square -1. Holy unflexable limbs batman. Its gonna take a while LOL. The stretching felt divine however and as long as I didn't just put myself in traction - I am looking forward to yoga again Wednesday morning. Hopefully I can quickly work back into lifting.

I am also looking forward to NOT living at the chiropractor's office almost daily for the last 2 weeks. I have improved to the point I am have been able to stretch my appointments to 3 or 4 days in between. I had been going daily then every other day.

This past weekend was a pretty normal weekend, up Saturday morning and at the Chiropractors office, a quick stop at Starbucks, then to my office for a bit to catch up on paperwork in the peace and quiet that is an empty office. Had the AC been on in the building I may have stayed all afternoon! It however wasn't and it started to get stuffy in there after about an hour so I ditched the office and headed to the nail salon. I had been putting that off for a bit to long so I wanted to get that accomplished over the weekend.

Sunday was the norm clean house do laundry and catch up on TV waiting for the new seasons of my shows to start that is pretty much the ONLY thing I like about Fall! I am loving the new show Madam Secretary. Tonight The Black List is back which is required watching in my house. Since the grandbaby is living with us and that is not toddler approved, I am really thrilled to have the TV and Uverse in my bedroom now, add the new bed and I never want to leave it! To bad I have to go be productive!

Have a great Monday!

Holiday Weekend Wrap Up

Whats that saying, The first 5 days back after a weekend are the hardest?? - Seriously though I did NOT want to climb out of bed when the alarm went off at 6 this morning..

We had a good 4th - just chilling with the family.. Grilling out at my sister in laws seeing friends we hadn't seen for a while and just generally sitting around talking, eating and well blowing shit up ;-).  We got home around 11 and I was not ready to sleep yet so I stayed up with the DVR. About 2 am I was ready and then some asshole pulls the fire alarm for the building. Took 20 minutes to get it shut off. By then thoughts of sleep were long gone and I didn't hit the pillow until almost 4:30 am.

Saturday was a lazy day  D went to a friends that evening for the UFC fight and I watched the rest of the stored programs on the DVR and read.

Sunday Peep and her boyfriend came over for dinner - I honestly wanted a LOT more info about them moving in together.. Yep shes an adult I do not care - I am gonna ask what I want to ask until I am satisfied with the answer. She may do the same with her child..

I have pretty much come to the conclusion this will be a culture shock for her. She thinks shes got small town living down from when she was in ND. This tiny town's total populous sits at 300. TOTAL! Should be interesting.

Lil Man is sporting a new hair cut - I can't get over how grown up he looks..

Mean Monday - Weekend Wrap Up

This weekend was kinda of a slower weekend - we decided to go no where and not do much - fine by me!

Friday night for Valentines Day we ordered dinner to go at Longhorn. I called it in before I left the office and D picked it up after he was off work while I ran to the store for dessert and RedBox. Got home changed into sweats lit the fireplace and settled in for prime rib and The Heat. Good movie by the way.  We had exchanged gifts earlier in the week. We just had a low key evening all around. No 2 hour wait for a table and rushing through dinner, slow service because the servers are all rushed and overly busy.  This was the second year we have done Valentines day and it will probably be our yearly tradition.

Saturday I slept in for a bit then got up and started in on paperwork for the office while D played the play station. I worked for a bit then surfed the internet, got caught up on my groups and blog reads then did a little online shopping for some makeup. Before we really knew it the day was gone - funny how the internet and play station can suck the entire day away. Saturday night we caught up on some show on the DVR.

Sunday was more paperwork, I like to split it up and look it over a few times with fresh eyes. When you sit and look at spreadsheets for hours everything blends, you become crossed eyed and it all looks the same so you miss things. D tossed a roast in the crock pot and did some laundry while I worked.  We caught the 2nd DVD we had rented Friday The Family - another good movie. The ending is a little head turner as you look at the TV sideways and go "huh" but it is a Martin Scorsese film and I find I usually do that at the end of his movies.

Honestly I had things I probably should have gotten out of the house to do I just didn't feel the want to go out. Most of what I wanted to go do I just ordered online instead of dealing with going to the Mall and picking it up. I probably should have gone to the grocery store and gotten this weeks food and necessities. I just didn't have the energy to get up and go do it.  I honestly could have stayed in bed for the weekend and been a happy girl - I have a book that I am half way through and want to finish. A book, an MP3 player, the laptop and I am good to go. the lack of energy and desire to leave the house happens every once in a while - I have noticed it more often in winter, this winter in particular. Generally I have also found it directly relates to my chronic fatigue and stress levels. When I am overly stressed I can't keep the chronic fatigue at bay for long. I need to find a new way to deal with stress and cope.

How was your weekend??

2nd Day of Fall and Monday Ramblings

So yesterday brought Fall ... it was a gorgeous day light breeze, sunshine and 80 degrees out - totally my type of Fall day! Today is a repeat. I could honestly handle year around temps like these and be a content and happy girl!

The past few weeks I've been a bit discombobulated without any real reason for it that I can tell. Maybe its just because we have been on the go so much and for so long.  My attention span is shot and my get up and go got up and left.

Saturday I attempted to clean house - I had really wanted to tear it apart and do a deep clean. How it really went down was more like ADD cleaning a little in this room a little in that room. I did get the living room done but not the front hall closet or much of anything else. The kitchen table has become a catch all for everything again.

Next weekend I think its time to "go off the grid" again for a while and recharge.  I think the only thing I am looking forward to about Winter is that things slow down. Its cold and no one really wants to go anywhere or do anything. The fire place gets lit and movies tossed in the DVD player or a book read. Now that I can't wait for!

I have a 5k coming up next weekend that I am so not ready for it looks like ton of fun, but I am a tad worried about my knee especially since I did NOT see the inside of the gym for most of the summer. YIKES.  I also need to stop at the sporting good store and get a band for my knee to see if that helps the knee cap stay where its suppose to and maybe cut down on the "clicking" it does.

Seriously? Its Tuesday??

I missed Monday's weekend wrap up.. Every time I went to start it I had something else that HAD to be done right then - before I knew it Monday was over.  I spent Monday on the phone, in meetings and generally with paperwork.  I feel like every time I looked up 2 hours had passed.

SO how was your weekend?? I ran errands and finally picked up some new clothes - both for me and D.  His were worn out and mine frankly just didn't fit, you can only wear clothes that are too big for so long before you just look frumpy as hell. Do yourself a favor and don't stay in the wrong size clothing for to long.  It does defeat your purposes.

I broke down and got new shoes as well. I'm not sure if it was because it was the end of the day and my feet hurt already or of after an hour of looking I was fed up with nothing being comfortable - but I ended up with the plainest loafers you have ever seen, they boarder on ugly. However, the are hands down the most comfortable shoes I have ever put on my feet. I'm talking walking on marshmallow comfort. I am ignoring the ugly/old lady factor.

a few pics of the weekend...

Look close - that car is filled from the floor to almost the roof with CRAP.. When I passed it I noticed the front passenger seat is the same way - there is ONLY room for the driver.

Little Man Saturday afternoon - he had just gotten tubes in his ear the day before

THE comfiest shoes.

Weekend wrap up

I know its late Monday afternoon - sorry it was a regular ass kicking Monday for me.  Thankfully this weekend was NOT as eventful as last weekend!

Friday night we just chilled and watched the DVR.  I love doing that, sweats, some munchies taking over the whole couch, Sorry Raz.

Yes this is my couch buddy - yes he is huge and takes up most of the couch.

Saturday the Hubs had to work and I pretty much continued the Friday night saga of holding down the couch and watching the DVR.  Saturday night we rented movies and headed to my sister-in-laws.  We watched Hope Springs - which is a pretty good movie then Rock of Ages - that was so cheesy it was worse than living through the 80's.. I still love the music though.

Sunday was a normal Sunday, sleep in, putter around the house, go grocery shopping then hit the couch for the 3 hours of the Grammys!!

Thursday Musings - 6 Weeks into Stay at Home Orders

I seriously can not believe we have been "sheltering in place" for 6 freaking weeks now, and I say this as an "I'd rather...
