We made it to Friday!!

Its been an interesting week to say the least. We have about a million projects going at work and that seems to be when every client also has an emergency.. It also appears 75% of my staff wants the same days off.. I hate when that happens because I hate having to say no to a day off request. Makes me feel mean.

So yesterday I went and had an eye exam for contacts. I have not even attempted to wear contacts since the early 90's. Everyone said try them again they have made vast improvements in them - you may find that you can actually wear them.  So I did and I am trying.

I am finding that I still have the whole dry eye thing happening even though I have the hydro gel type. Though it is a bad allergy season for me this year and I do now have allergy drops to try so we will see. I WANT to be able to wear them so bad. They have to WORK for me through. Today is actually day 1 so we will see. I did have them in for a few hours last night and watched some TV.

Today I am at work in front of my PC and not really sure why my eyes keep having to refocus over and over on my screens - that is flat annoying and starting a headache.. I did not bring my glasses with me this morning so unless I call D - this has to work.

Anyone else have issues adjusting to contacts or was it smooth sailing after you got used to something being right on your eye??  Maybe I should just skip this and go straight to Lasik lol..

In other news I joined a new 12 week fitness challenge that starts Monday - I committed to this before it even sunk in that it started 4 days BEFORE a holiday weekend whoomp whoomp.. Oh well.

I seem to do better when its a challenge environment. I do have a competitive nature so that really helps. I can join a group but unless its in a time formatted challenge it doesn't matter. Not exactly sure whats happened in the past 6 months - last summer I had motivation coming out my ears. Now I am all ohhh year that donut looks AWESOME gimme 2.. So hopefully this kick starts the clean eating and exercising again.. So this weekend will be the last of the junk for awhile...

Mid November So soon.... YIKES!

Can we slow time down just a tad - Kthanksbye... To say I am NOT ready for the Holiday's is an understatement. This year time has just gotten away from me with everything that has been going on.

Frankly anymore they are just to much pressure - the perfect pies, the perfect gift, oh I just need to get 1 more thing in case the neighbors come over. I'm exhausted thinking about it. This year I think I am going to bake, craft a few things and maybe give out coupons ie 1 evening of babysitting...  The thing that always stops me with that idea though is the thought "oh but they are going to be disappointed" which just points back to whats so wrong anymore with the "holidays".

I caught a lot of flack last year for not even putting up a Christmas Tree, psst I am not putting one up this year either.. I hung stocking and we had a Norfolk pine on the kitchen table. It was nice to have it low key and not have the "I have to put all this up" dread come January.

But enough of that - I am overwhelmed enough at the moment!

I have gotten some emails with some questions - several which are repeated so I thought I'd answer y'all here.

Q. How tall are you
A. 5'11 - Which yes this made for an interesting high experience. By them however I was used to the staring and whispers since I have always been taller than my friends and some adults!

Q. What do you do for a living.
A. Sorry I don't talk about work on the internets other than a slight mention that its been a busy week/month etc.

Q. What foundation are you using.
A. Honestly I don't spend my $ on foundation - I use Covergirl in Creamy Natural and I follow that with Cover Girl powder in the same color - I spend my money on eye shadow, liner and blush.

Q. Do you tan?
A. HAHAHAHA Nope I am as pale as they come - I glow in the dark. In the summer time my arms get some color because I pretty much live in tank tops. I did do a small stint in tanning beds in high school until I ran into a woman who looked more distressed than my purse. She had spent a life time in the sun and looked 15 years older than she was.

I will toss more Q & A on the blog next week... Have a great weekend!

Look Ma I wore COLOR!! And about 15 layers I'm COLD I need to refine that look though, the layers make me look bigger. Yes the spiked hair is back - I  MISSED it. Its my favorite.

The week wrap up

WOW what a week.. I knew it was going to be I just didn't know HOW much of a week it was.

Let me back up to Thanksgiving...  Had a blast with the fam. I did watch what I ate but I ate what I wanted if that makes sense.  Then I vegged out with my SIL (ok hid out from the football, back in her bedroom) ...  watched tv, shopped on line and scoped the BF (Black Friday) ad's for the next day.

For the first time ever I actually did shop BF. I went to Kohl's and made a killing. I managed to get a little over $600 in clothes (for me :-) I really needed them) for a little over $200 and I got $65 in Kohl's cash AND they mailed me a 20 % off coupon for this week - so I am headed there tonight to finish up.

The rest of the weekend was uneventful, I cleaned the heck out of my house and got some order restored there and pretty much thought I was getting ready for the next week. 4 am Monday morning however found The Hubs and I in the ER where he was admitted to the hospital where he stayed until last night. Glad to have him home now!!

Wednesday I hit my goal weight... It took a few hours for me to realize this however with everything that was going on. I weighed that morning added it to the groups weight for the holiday challenge then a few hours later I went HOLD ON A SECOND.. I MADE GOAL WOOHOOO!!!!!

My knee is doing wonderfully so I am gearing up to start actually working out again, my goal now is to be toned.  Jillian Ripped in 30 here I come!!!

Yesterday I got the presale code for concert tickets .... not just any concert BON JOVI!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have wanted to see Bon Jovi live since I was 15 years old ... so this is one of those bucket list things. I am beyond excited, I am like one of those little chihuahua dogs who's gets so excited to see you they pee on your foot.  The concert is not until April so I can see the excitement level only going up from here.

This weekend I am hoping to just chill - I am at the level just above exhausted and need some downtime.  What are your weekend plans??

Lordy what a two weeks its been..

Sorry it has been over two weeks - life happened. We have been super busy and now getting in to the Holiday fury.. (Pictures to follow) Its also 4 am and I can't sleep so here is the way late and long winded update..

Week before last family was in town, my Earnie (my ex), Laura (his wife) and my 3 godsons were here to finally meet Lil Man and visit the fam (they have had a lot of stuff come up and this was the first chance they have had to make the 12 hour drive). Its been a few years since we were all together.

We had a good time catching up and just hanging out - I can't believe how much the godson's have grown - yeah yeah I KNEW they were older but having it in your face is totally different!! LOL.  Friday night Laura Peep and I went to the piano bar and we had a blast - I may have rediscovered my love affair with some absolute and cranberry (goes down smooth LOL).  The piano bar is always a good time.  This hot mama also got hit on by a very drunk very lewd guy in a suit that was there for a bachelor party or something - his lines were pitiful but it was an ego boost never the less..

Saturday we all ventured to the WW1 war museum in town and had an equally good time - My oldest godson and his dad are huge military enthusiasts - which has roots in the fact that all the families on all the sides have HUGE military histories - we all have veterans in the family tree.  We came back home and Laura made us a wonderful dinner of Marsala chicken - The Hubs and I promptly ate all the leftovers the next day for lunch! Laura and I may have done some shopping that weekend as well *wink*

Sunday they had to leave early to start the long ass drive home - it was a short visit but jam packed with fun and laughs. Lil Man also turned 5 months old Sunday

Also the my new wedding set came in (we were waiting on the band) and I am loving it - Thank you Hubs your the BEST - true ROCK STAR..

Last weekend was the gangs annual Halloween party hosted by good friends of ours. I may have continued my vodka love affair that night as well (I am not a lush and rarely drink I just happened to do it 2 weekends in a row.. Hell until this past Saturday The Hubs, and my sister and brother in law and all of our friends have NEVER seen me under the influence -  and Hubs and I have been together almost 12 years)

This past Tuesday (10/30/12) was the Madonna concert - it was an experience in one of my long time faves turning her music in to concept art. Over all I enjoyed it but really wished there were a few more of the early hits. I realize its been 25 years and shes grown artistically and has a new album out - but a true rendition of Like a Virgin would have made my night!!!

Yesterday - Friday I had my knee surgery - its going pretty well - swollen and I have a partial beidadine tan on my left leg and a HUGE bandage and wrap - but all that will go away soon enough and I can get back to getting active!! I am missing working out (whoa did I say that?? Who IS this chick??)

This weekend I plan to rest and attempt to vote early tomorrow - we need to a little grocery shopping but my main plan is to be bff's with the couch and the DVR..

Now for the pictures

5 Months - we have teeth!

 Grandpa and Lil Man
Lil Man and his Uncles (my Godsons)

Post surgery - be kind to your knees!!

It feels like Monday all over again ......

Note to self - next time there is a midweek holiday take the next friggin day off as well!!!  I'm tired as hell despite the energy pills I took this morning.

Recap of the last few days ... Tuesday I hit the gym and pounded the treadmill for 30 mins (went 1.5 miles).  With yesterday being the 4th of July I didn't workout but did watch what I put in my mouth.  We had a shrimp boil so I stuck to mostly shrimp with a half ear of corn a quarter of a potato and just a scoop of pasta salad and cole slaw.  My sister in law made some fab white chocolate and sugar sprinkled strawberries I did inhale 2 of those and a tiny you could read the newspaper through it piece of chocolate cake.  I stuck to water and unsweetened tea to drink. Oddly enough I was fine with what I ate - I'm sure there will be some all and all cheat days coming my way at some point.

The 4th was a blast - just hanging out with good friends and family chilling and enjoying some silliness.. Lil man did really well considering how blazin hot it was. Though we waited until later in the day to venture out doors to join the party. We were surprised at how the fireworks didn't even phase him.  The only time he jumped is when the half stick went into a bag of flour... Here he is just waiting to get the party started!  In all honesty - this is just about the only time he slept yesterday.

Tonight I am hoping to be able to get in my shred before Ms Lady leaves for a bit and I am watching Lil Man. I do not want to skip 2 days in row!!

Thursday Musings - 6 Weeks into Stay at Home Orders

I seriously can not believe we have been "sheltering in place" for 6 freaking weeks now, and I say this as an "I'd rather...
