Finally its SPRING!!!

I am so thrilled it finally fricken warmer. One of these days I will live on the beach again!  Things are blooming here in St Louis and one of my favorite trees started to bloom this weekend.

I love magnolia's and was so excited to see them bloom this weekend. I can't wait until both trees have fully bloomed and it's just an explosion of pink and white.

I have dipped my toes back into keto meals in an effort to feel better and reverse some health issues, the bonus will be the weight loss for a summer vacation planned to Colorado. So far so good with things. I picked up a whole slew of supplements this weekend to get through and hopefully dramatically lessen the effects of "keto flu". I also grabbed a new water cup - keeps things cold for 24 hours. Staying hydrated is key.

Its been a while since I have been back to my hometown in Colorado and last time I was there, nothing I wanted to do was on the agenda so I am looking forward to being back and being able to see old friends and do a few activities.  There is a jeep tour of Pikes Peak and a White Water rafting trip that are booked. White Water rafting will be a new thing for me. Is it June yet??? I kid, I am trying to not rush my life away.  One thing we all to is ask is it ________ yet, which means we are truly never really in the present moment. I am very guilty of this myself and with the exception of asking every year is it Spring yet I am now trying to be very conscious of this habit and to stop it.  We only have so many minutes in this life that are allocated to us - don't wish them away!

A few other things I am trying to get back into is yoga and reading. Two things I enjoy doing but the past few years, yes years I have done less and less of both of them. I find myself on social media just mindlessly scrolling. Even when watching tv, the phone is in hand and I am scrolling. My goal for this Spring is to cut down, way down on the mindless scrolling, do more reading, more yoga, being more present.

What are y'all up to?? Do you have any Spring goals??

Happy March!!!

Spring is in 17 days!!!!!!!!!! Daylight savings starts Sunday and warm up is soon after! Thank you, I am SICK of being cold. I want my shorts and flip flops back. Tank tops and maxi dresses. Warm breezes and bright flowers.

The Diva Dash is the last weekend this month, which is later than previous years. I am hoping that means I won't freeze my ass off waiting for it to start this year. This is my favorite 5k of the year; last year it was the only one I did. I am hoping to do more this year provided my back issues stay in check.

I just about have the house unpacked, things put away and organized. I started hanging pictures this weekend.  Then I need to start looking at storage ideas, especially in the bathroom. That's the space where we lost the most storage.

Ironically even though we downsized, this space feels homier.  It is certainly warmer now that we no longer had sliding glass and a deck! I love that I sit in my living room and I don't have to be bundled up in sweats and a huge blanket. I'd rather be in sweats and a tank top with bare feet!!

Its going to be a busy week at work. I have a few deadlines to meet at the end of the week. Should be a productive week!

Go have a great Monday!

So its been a hot minute - Lets catch up

lately things have been super busy. I got a promotion at work and some of my job details have changed. So I have been real busy at the office.  I also started talking on call weeks - that's been may biggest adjustment. When I am on call I have to be with 15 minutes of a stable internet connection, so I don't really go anywhere for that week, including the weekends.  I was on call week before last week, off this past week and getting ready to go back on call. I had traded with one of my employees for this coming week. Whatcha gonna do lol.

So being off this past weekend I got my first 5k of the season in.. It was Diva Dash weekend. The Diva Dash is hands down my favorite 5k. I have only missed 1 and that was the 1st year as I didn't know anything about it then LOL.  I have a few pics - as soon as I am able to get a chance to sit down and download the official race pics I will have more.

Diva Dash is part of the Girls on the Run organization - which hands down is an awesome group. They are all about empowering young girls and trying to set healthy mind sets BEFORE peers and society get a hold of them and undermine them. This past week one of the board members, was called out in a magazine - who supposedly has the same motto. Though after reading the article I did, I can't image that to be true.

The board member is battling cancer, and ran a marathon in the middle of fucking chemo no less only to get made fun of in the magazine for wearing a tutu during the race. Umm so fucking what?? LOTS of female runners do so in a tutu - I guess that is what they got their tulle in a bunch over, declaring it tacky. The race community has flipped its shit over this.  Its a well known women's fitness magazine who's behavior does not model its mission statement.  The apology was horrid.

I was thrilled to see a whole sea of tutu's at Saturday's race. I had pulled out my own, grabbed a tiara and hit the starting line. I will say I had a blast in that outfit. I stopped at Quick Trip before the race.. gotta have coffee ... and the reactions were awesome. After the race I went through the Starbucks drive thru - yes more coffee - and that reaction was positive as well... Makes me think everyone needs a tiara and tutu in their life!!

Later Saturday afternoon I hit the nail salon and had Spring on the brain so I had to get Spring nails.. The Fitbit stats are after all day.. Its the first time ALL goal for the day were lit up green.. That tickled me.

I will admit to not doing a whole lotta jack shit Sunday LMAO.. I relaxed most of the day, then did some paperwork to get ready for the next week and called that good!  My shins are sore - as is usual- but not nearly as much as the past years after the 1st race of the season so I'll call that a score!

Have a great Monday!!!

Hello March

Or better known (around here at least) as my birthday month .. Yep month ..

*disclaimer*  This post it brought to you by late evening ramblings and Whipped Cream vodka and cranberry juice LOL..

March is coming in like a lion - we are in the middle of a winter storm warning and its snowing them some ice mixed in... boo hiss..  I hope this means the end of March goes out like a lamb. I'm flat sick of being cold and bundled up.. I want to paint my toe nails pretty colors and throw on flip flops and maxi skirts and feel the sun warm me up..

I meant to blog Friday and do the usual Friday letters but it was beyond busy at the office and I juggled calls and paperwork all day them came home to log on and finish up so that I was not starting Monday behind the 8 ball.

Later Friday evening I received a call from my daughter and we ended up talking until midnight - that has NEVER happened.. Here's hoping to a better mother/daughter relationship than we have had in the past. She did let me know that even though we have this crappy snow storm coming that my mother is hell bent on going to the dinner theater Sunday night and wanted to know if I wanted to go with her.

At first I said no, I have a ton of paperwork to catch up on and the weather is going to suck. Saturday I find out shes STILL planning on going. My Mother is going to be 72 this month and on her best day her driving is scary as hell, so I told her if it was possible to go and they don't cancel I will go BUT I AM DRIVING HER. I hate to say this but I am praying its cancelled..

I usually don't like KS Wizzard of Oz jokes - honestly most of us here don't LOL but this came across my facebook feed today and I loved it..

Have a great rest of your weekend!!

Happy Monday .... 37 Days til Spring

Yep Happy Monday - trying to keep a positive outlook .. Try it, you may find it working...

37 day's til Spring - I will say I hope Mother Nature and Old Man Winter got the memos.. I've been cold and snowed in far to long now. Today is another work from home day since my complex did not bother to remove the 2 inches of fresh snow we got yesterday, hell they didn't even salt. So my low to the ground car tried and tried this morning but would not, cold not get up the small hill. Thankfully I am in a position to work from home. Though I am really now lusting after 4 wheel drive or all wheel drive.

This weekend was fairly quiet just chilling at the house, reading and catching up on the DVR. Sunday we did venture out to get groceries before the the snow dumped again.  Yes it was only 2 inches - but that's on top of the 14 that was already out there and the freezing temps. I did however hear a rumor that soon warmer temps are on the way!! I'm sure D will happy when I am not running the fireplace almost every night. Its a gas fireplace and I am sure when I light it his brain just starts thinking cha ching over and over until its turned off. That and he says it makes him too warm. At least its made it to 11 degrees - its noon but its 11 degrees LOL.

My cough that was left from having the flu is finally subsiding so I am hoping to get back into my workout routine this week.. Why is is so hard to get back into the swing of things when you have been resting for 3 weeks?? I am already sitting here thinking "I don't wanna". I know that it will be easier once I "just do it". I was in a really good pattern until I got sick. I was working out 5 to 6 days a week.. Now to get back to there..

Best pic of the weekend: He rarely gets to chill on my bed...

Have a great Monday Y'all!!

So What Wednesday & Lil Man's Birthday Month!!

So What Wednesday

If you think you're charming ...  that only gets you by for 15 minutes after that you better know something.

If you were the 'it' thing in high school - its now the real world and they don't care.

If the weather guy is just reporting what the computer models say - when he tells me its going to snow May 3rd I get to flip him off... Today its 80 ... The end of the week its this...... May freaking 3rd - yes i'm seriously unhappy about it!!

If I have been saying I was going to Spring clean the last 2 weeks in a row, Springs not over - heck based on this weeks forecast Mother Nature's keeping it hostage!

If I am a grown women - a Darth Vader potato head still needed to be on my desk in my office!!

Its May 1st witch brings up to lil man's birthday month - I can't believe how fast this last year has gone by - seems like just yesterday his mama was still pregnant.

Today when the city tested the tornado sirens I was reminded of last year when I had taken Peep (lil man's mama - I have called her Peep for years) to Walmart and a tornado had been spotted - we were stuck in the bathroom for over an hour. All I could think of was please don't go into labor in here with a tornado landing.  She was 9 months pregnant at the time and every time they would get ready to call all clear the sirens would go off again.

Lil Man an hour old - he stole my heart immediately

Wham Bam - Random Wednesday

The weather man promised Spring weather after yesterday's snow... WTF its the end of April - you can stick your snow.... yeah you get the picture, winter - over it.

High school cattiness from women never goes away and with the internet its more abundant as they can 'hide" behind silly screen names and an IP address - doesn't matter your still a bitch.

I unknowingly have been living under a rock in blogdom - I had no clue Dooce was getting divorced.. So sad - they seemed to really click and be the perfect lid/pot combo.

Got new specs - why is it the nose pads that always give me grief getting adjusted to.

I need to spring clean and take stuff to Goodwill.

Also thinking about totally revamping the blog.

I would really like to see P!nk when she comes to the Sprint Center in November.

Totally loving this song at the moment....

Someone give Mother Nature a Prozac - and other randoms

Hello Mother Nature PLEASE fricken separate from Old Man Winter like post hasties - this shit is beyond old and I am sick of being cold!!!  It was not fair to give us an 80 degree day then snatch it back and leave snow..

Ok that rants over .. but seriously the ground hog said an early spring - so now I'm taking a hit out on that fuzzy lil bastard.

Saturday is the Diva Dash - may the knee gods smile on my knee. Its still not right after the surgery so this maybe a challenge - depending on how this goes it maybe my last 5k.

Princess Peep and Lil Man moved out last Thursday its been pretty quite the last few days .. Missing his laugh a lot. He is a really happy baby so his coos and laughs are constant.. The Hubs and I are picking him up on Sunday for a day out with Noni & Papaw. Looking forward to spending the day with him.

I have been asked if I am going to do a Q & A session on the blog ... email me your questions and I will get a post going for that.

Have a great afternoon and do something nice for someone you don't know. It can be as simple as a smile to someone that appears to be having a bad day.

Goodbye January ... Hello February

So glad to see January go .. it means we are 1 month closer to Spring!!! I abhor winter. I hate being cold.  For 9 months out of the year I do like where I live. Its a beautiful city. Its the 3 months of winter that make me dream of Belize and relocating.  I'm just not a 4 seasons  person. I like summer and slightly cooler summer :-)

Yes I am aware it could be worse and I could live where it snows more and gets colder - ah hell no I couldn't nor would I.. I'm such a warm weather person that the reason for me to move to an even colder climate would have to be pretty compelling - at this point the only other place I'd consider is back to Colorado Springs - which I have always considered home. Until now its the place I had lived for any length of time.

Don't get me wrong I do like Kansas City - its a beautiful city, its not called the City of Fountains for nothing. We have the most fountains in the city in the US and in the Spring and Summer its nice to walk downtown and check them out.  I like walking out of a store in the evening and feeling the day just starting to slip away the heat dissipating and the sun setting, the smell after a summer rain. You just don't get that with snow.

48 more days to go!!

84 days til warm!!

Yes I am looking forward to Spring, I HATE winter, I abhor being cold.. I love that it doesn't get dark until 9 pm or later. I love walking out of a building at 8 pm at night and being warm and smelling the heat. I hate scraping windows and dodging puddles of icy water.  I like warm weather clothing, tanks & shorts and flips. So yes, I am counting all 12 weeks until warm weather hits!!

Operation Red Bikini is in full swing and I have been kicking with my girl Jillian just about every night we have been hitting Ripped in 30, tonight I am going to hit Yoga Meltdown.  Even on my break nights I have been doing active breaks - walking and dancing around the living room with the grand baby.. which he loves and just giggles and smiles.

The weekend was pretty uneventful - which is what we needed after the hustle and bustle of the holiday weekends.  Costco Saturday, really just to walk around, watched Lil Man, Sunday I was in the office to review billing before it was due the next day and some grocery shopping...

BTW this stuff .. AMAZEBALLS!!!

And I got a planner and stickers for workouts - yes those are Starwars lego stickers - I'm a geek at heart so shush..

And finally - make sure you eat your veggies!!

Thursday Musings - 6 Weeks into Stay at Home Orders

I seriously can not believe we have been "sheltering in place" for 6 freaking weeks now, and I say this as an "I'd rather...
