Throwback Thursday

I think I was about 18 months old in these (yes I was even tall then).  Not totally sure as my mother doesn't have them labeled. You can sure tell it was the 70's though check out that checker pattern on those overalls, which I am pretty sure she made. I am also quiet sure those were the only pair of converse type shoes I have ever owned. Though I do have my eye on a pair of hot pink ones!

One thing that stands out, to me at least, is even back then my hair did what it damn well wanted to LOL! Thankfully now there is products and flat irons that tame it as best as it can be tamed.  I also attempt to dress better, at least now I get to pick my own clothes..

Throwback Thursday and the Start of Hair Hating

I was thinking I was 3 or 4 here.. Now that I put some more thought into it I had to be 3. What you don't see is that my hair was down past my backside and shortly after this photo my mother cut it off to my ears.  That was natural curl that was loose enough to fall perfectly. After she cut if off - not so much. Its now morphed into a frizzy, wavy mess. Which has ended in years of hating my hair.. Thanks Mom.

These days I keep it cut off in order to not have an intense desire to shave it all off and spend a small fortune in wigs! I do go back and forth with growing it and wacking it back off.. Thank goodness my stylist loves me and is a personal friend, by now anyone else would have just strangled me by now.

I'm forever texting her pictures of hair and asking what do you think? Even right after she's given me a new style.. Sorry April - I do love you Sister.. Just last night as she was cutting it shorter just 3 weeks after we only "took a little off" so that it was a longer pixie, like Alice in Breaking Dawn's style, but was driving me batty and 2 weeks after she took it red. I looked at her smiled and said "after winter this shits going back blonde" she laughed and said I figured.

Thankfully it just hair and easy to change!!!

Throwback Thursday - The Prom Link Up

button

Yes it was the 90's check out that hairdo and hoop skirt...I did edit the photo to protect the innocent - not everyone wants their high school pictures all over the internet :-)

I went to prom with my high school sweetheart, it was his junior prom if I remember correctly - who would later become my only child's father - no I did not get knocked up at prom contrary to my mothers belief - lord that would have been one long ass pregnancy seeing how prom was in May of 1990 and little Ms. Peep was born in Aug 1991 but wasn't due until November of 1991 but that's another story.

We doubled with a couple I had never met but the guy was friends with my boyfriend. His date come to find out was all of 13 or 14 - what the hell were her parents thinking??? She manged to get totally wasted that night and proceed to vomit on EVERYTHING. The side of the limo - the side of my boyfriends house you name it she puked on it.. Except for us thank goodness.

When I asked her if she was allowed to drink - as she's grabbing and throwing back a bottle of Jack Daniels - she informs me that yes, she does this with her parents all the time.. MMMkkayyyy SURE you do. So when we left to take her seriously drunk ass home I made sure I assisted her up the stairs, gotta keep her safe yanno, and into her house. I smiled sweetly and informed her parents their princess was bombed off her ass and told us " oh yeah I get wasted with my parents all the time" then left them to deal with her.

The dance dance itself was a blast. I had a great time - hanging out with friends, trying to keep that freaking dress under control (never wear a hoop skirt), dancing to the best music (yes the 90's had THE best music), ending the dance with Bon Jovi's Never Say Goodbye.. AHH high school memories....

So what was YOUR prom like??

Edited to add... Years later I had that dress taken apart and had our daughter's Christmas dress made out of it

Mayuary- also known as Mother Nature is severly unbalanced & flashback

So this was yesterday .. May 2nd

Yes that is the start of SNOW... we got more but the Internets ate the picture I had of it.  Snow flakes have only fallen 4 times in May in Kansas City - this is only the 2nd time in history its been measurable - the last time was May 3, 1907 with 1.7 inches - we got a little bit over that yesterday.  It was almost totally gone by this morning - but the rumor is its going to be cold into the middle of next week with maybe a little more wet white stuff...

Frankly I am sick of being cold, wearing 50 layers and still shivering. I want to pull out my flip flops for more than 48 hours!!!

Yesterday was also Throwback Thursday - and I posted this little gem on Instagram... Holy glamour shits Batman - circa 1994 - 1996 ish .. I can't remember when I took this.. My mom put it in this gold frame and gave it to my husband (I had given it to her back in day).  D can't figure out how he got it - he doesn't think it looks anything like me - so its still not been hung up - its living in our bedroom beside the wall and nightstand for the moment..

The other 2 were take in the past few days.  Big difference well and 18 years LOL   - Sorry about the wonky alignment - blogger hates side by side pictures...

This weekend since it is still going to be cold and nasty out we are going to do the big clean out/Goodwill organization project.. Both D and I have clothes we won't ever wear again and just stuff we don't use that needs to not live in our space anymore..

What is on your schedule for this weekend?
