I was reading a blog post and one of the comments sent me off in a search.. It about borrowing digital books right to her Kindle and how that was so much easier these days. Within minutes, I had a new elibrary card to the St Louis Library and Libby downloaded. I had waitlisted 3 books, borrowed 1 and discovered borrowing Audiobooks with Libby as well. That was last Thursday...
Since then I have finished:
Crazy Rich Asians on Audiobook
I liked this far more than I thought I would.. I will admit I checked it out to see what the hype was over the movie. I also started watching the movie, however, I will not finish that. I know so many love the movie, but in my opionion, it's another case of the story being lost due to time constraints on film and frankly, the 20 minutes I have watched of the movie I do not like. I have already download China Rich Girlfriend on Audiobook (and have started listing on my commute) and have a hold on the 3rd Audiobook. I recommend the book - especially if you have only seen the move.. So much has been lost in putting this into film
What Alice Forgot:
I liked it, the start was a bit slow for me and thankfully it picked up quick, I will not finish a book that doesn't hook me within the first 4 chapters or so. I have never been able to force myself to read a book that wasn't a school assigned read. This is a good quick poolside read once you get past the first few chapters.
Still Me:
I loved this trilogy - puffy sticker heart loved it. I think it put a very nice bow on Louisa's life and ended well. I loved Margot - and have my eye on the collection of short stories JoJo took the character from.
On my now reading/listening to list:

On Audio on Kindle
borrowing ebooks from the library is a game changer. so convenient! i love the me before you series, so good. what alice forgot is one of my faves so i'm glad you didn't hate it at least lol
ReplyDeleteI did not hate it .. I did however end up sad it was over! I'm really glad it picked up for some reason the first few chapters I was thinking hmmm this is just odd.
DeleteI wanted to read Crazy Rich Asians but ended up watching the movie instead. It made me cry. I suspect they'll make a movie of the second one so perhaps I'll read that one!
ReplyDeleteThe Book is SO much better!!!
DeleteMy library uses a different app but I really have liked borrowing books from there as well. What Alice Forgot is one that I enjoyed when I read it!
ReplyDeleteLibby is one of my favorite apps! I'm so happy to hear you're using it!
ReplyDeleteI'm loving it. Honestly I love to read but got into a huge slump and didn't read much over the last two years. Which is strange for me - for then you never say me without a book. Being able to have the audiobooks is a huge game changer, I have an hour commute. Being able to have a book read to me has made it more enjoyable.
DeleteI am pretty sure that I am the only person left on this planet who has not read Me Before You and I've become weirdly proud of that fact for no good reason. I have no doubt it's a great trilogy but now I'm all - let's see how long I can go before I read it. :D
ReplyDeleteLOL! It's an awesome trilogy I promise!
DeleteCant wait for the simply south book! I loved the first 2.
ReplyDeleteI'm just getting into the first one.. I am way behind LOL. I am hearing wonderful things about the story though so I am excited to get into it.
ReplyDeleteWhat Alice Forgot did have a slow start, now that I think about it. It wasn't my favorite of Moriarity's.
ReplyDeleteI loved Still Me, but hated Me Before You lol (I don't even know why I read them all :)
Me Before you was a hard read, emotion wise for me. The ending flat pissed me off which is why I read the next one I wanted to know that Lou was ok. I'm a cheeseball I know LOL
DeleteBless the library. So great to be able to borrow easily!
ReplyDeleteRight!!! There are quite a few new releases that are on my TBR list now, where as before I would wait a while to get them at a discount on kindle.
DeleteI really did not like crazy rich asians but still plan to finish the series.
ReplyDeleteI liked what alice forgot
I'm in the middle of book two - this one is dragging a bit for me but still has my intrigued. I need to get through it, book 3 just hit my borrowed section.
