Randoms and Shit That Makes Me Laugh

I can't figure out why I am so tired all the damn time.. Its 12:15 and I am yawning and seriously wanting to just take a short nap.. I go to bed about 10:30 ish every night - usually 10:15 - so why am I fighting sleep early afternoons?

Frankly I am sick of hearing about Miley - she achieved what she set out to do - its 3 days later and every one is STILL talking bout that. I did see a few things how that cracked me up.

I know this was for Gaga's opening but that pic is flat awesome!
Not sure whats up with the tongue thing but listen to Kelly O and keep your your damn tongue in your mouth!

I am looking forward to a long weekend.. I took an extra day off for the Labor Day weekend so I WON'T be that person at 10 p.m Monday night saying damn I wish I was off tomorrow..

A few things that have made me laugh ..

Friday Letters

Dear Drivers on 435 - this is not the 405 in LA stop shooting at each other dumbasses.

Dear Population in general - WTF Is wrong with you? First the beating death of a runner earlier in the week because you were bored - now a WWII vet beaten to death.. I hope ally'all end up with a 132 lb scrotum ... (Google the learning channel - just not at work)

Dear Economy - why did I got to college and now have student loans out the ass when Costco starts at $11.50 an hour and Tyson's fork life drivers make over $16?

The problem with ........

Being the strong one, the capable one is that everyone seeks you out - constantly - relentlessly... Which is fine until the strong one feels overwhelmed yet smiles and keeps plugging along... While people keep asking for favors taking pieces over and over and not really giving back.

People don't get why you are hesitant when you pick up the phone or do not answer at all. Never stop to think that every time they call its simply because they want/need something from you. Its never "Hi how are you?" its always "Hi, what are you doing? I need ______". So you start to cautiously answer the phone from then on and you get accused of being short tempered or snotty. *SIGH*

I'm not really short tempered or snotty, I'm tired I am drained.  I am on the go from sun up to way past sun down trying to keep it all going.  I have 2 households to keep going, a 50 - 60 hour a week career that I love and yes I am blessed when so many people are out of work and can't find anything at all. I get it I truly do, but do you get it?

Did it ever occur to you to stop instead of asking for the 11 millionth favor or starting a sentence with only you can do this or you are so good at this so I am calling you - to say Hi, is there anything I can do for you??

Confessional

Made it to Wednesday ... woohooo - speaking of Wednesday I HATE that damn Geico camel commercial - its aired way to many times now

I haven't been to the gym in a long while - I got busy and that was the first thing to go .. these days by then time I get home from work all I want to do is hold down the couch - so that is all I have been doing. I've been maintaining my weight so I am not worried there.

I do wonder why some women put no effort into things, they dress for work in ill fitting sloppy clothes, no make up and the hair in a pony tail - ever single day. Why?

I forget I have twitter so I rarely tweet.

I know the correct form for typing - I just NEVER use it..

I am the queen of awkward - I will say something totally innocently never realizing that it could be taken the wrong way then I  will fall all over myself to apologize.

I have to spell check as I go, not at the the end - I can't STAND to see the words underlined in red, they must be fixed as soon as the red line appears.

I really do hate confrontation - I will do my best to avoid it until the bitter end and I can't avoid it any longer - then I will go spider monkey/southern bitch all over you.

And now the things that have made me laugh this week..

Seriously? Its Tuesday??

I missed Monday's weekend wrap up.. Every time I went to start it I had something else that HAD to be done right then - before I knew it Monday was over.  I spent Monday on the phone, in meetings and generally with paperwork.  I feel like every time I looked up 2 hours had passed.

SO how was your weekend?? I ran errands and finally picked up some new clothes - both for me and D.  His were worn out and mine frankly just didn't fit, you can only wear clothes that are too big for so long before you just look frumpy as hell. Do yourself a favor and don't stay in the wrong size clothing for to long.  It does defeat your purposes.

I broke down and got new shoes as well. I'm not sure if it was because it was the end of the day and my feet hurt already or of after an hour of looking I was fed up with nothing being comfortable - but I ended up with the plainest loafers you have ever seen, they boarder on ugly. However, the are hands down the most comfortable shoes I have ever put on my feet. I'm talking walking on marshmallow comfort. I am ignoring the ugly/old lady factor.

a few pics of the weekend...

Look close - that car is filled from the floor to almost the roof with CRAP.. When I passed it I noticed the front passenger seat is the same way - there is ONLY room for the driver.

Little Man Saturday afternoon - he had just gotten tubes in his ear the day before

THE comfiest shoes.

Thursday's Shit I Don't Understand

Whats up with all the fall talk and give aways - good night nurse its still August - shut up! Soon after that you will be bitching its cold and you hate the snow.

I don't get women who come to work go into the public bathroom and then proceed to empty the entire contents of their make up case on the counter like its their personal bathroom at home. Stop taking over the sink - its not your vanity top!

Mean girls - not any one of you is more important or special that any other girl on the planet - knock it the fuck off.

Fat shaming/skinny shaming - see above and shut up!

Girls who insist on wearing leggings as pants - I don't care what size you are THEY ARE NOT PANTS - no one wants to see your ass checks or your taco put a tunic on with those!

And it's Monday .... again

Monday ... kinda like the drunk Uncle who always shows up to the 4th of July bash for the free beer...

I didn't really take pictures over the weekend, I was more into being in the moment than taking pictures of it..  Saturday I went with my sister in law to help her pick a laptop. Her's had died a quiet death Friday. We did lunch then hit the local Geek temple Microcenter... LOVE LOVE that place..

Sunday D and I went and signed another 18 month lease on our apartment - we thought about moving for about 2 seconds - yes I would like to move, ideally I want a townhouse but at the moment I am way to busy to search then pack and move and finally unpack, besides I am currently 5 blocks from my mom and due to her health I am not wanting to go far - so for 18 months we are staying put.

We also cleaned house and discussed some redecorating we want to do in the next few months. I have a bunch of clothing that needs to hit the Goodwill donation box, there is probably more in my closet and dresser that I should part with but haven't been able to toss just yet - maybe soon.

I did find the BEST time to go to Ross - Sunday evening about 8 pm. They are open until 9:30 but because its Sunday night - there is no one in the store - SCORE.  Downside right now is everything has been picked over BAD due to the Grand Opening and back to school shopping. I did find a beyond awesome pair of Calvin Klien dress slacks that did come home with me!

Piece by piece I am replacing my wardrobe - I'm having a heck of a time finding things I like.  Apparently ankle pants are in, but due to my height I look freaking ridiculous in them. I don't care what style they are or color I just look like I am making due with a pair of pants a hair to short.. In the next week or so  I'll try my luck at JC Penney's..

Thursday's Shit I Don't Understand

LinkedIn - I just started using LinkedIn and keep expecting a feed like Facebooks. I don't get the layout. I supposed I will figure it out. I didn't much like Facebook when I started using it either. Any tips - send them my way please..

How come the wheel track on my mouse wears out after a year.. WTF Can't Microsoft design one that lasts longer.

How come I get the urge to clean house in the middle of the day when I am at the office and make lists of things to do once I get home. However I get there and anything on the list is the last thing I want to do.

Why is it that some people just seem to have non-stop drama in their life. Its just one thing after another. How exhausting and why must they drag others into it. Keep that shit to yourself, after awhile you wear people out.

Why is that 2 years after a root canal that tooth decides to start hurting...

What the hell happens to eyebrows in your late 30's - women's eyebrows disappear and men's decide they want to stand straight up and wave.. seriously what the hell?

Self tanner - no matter how careful I am or what prep I do I streak and get splotchy... The pictures do not do the leopard look justice....

Good food - Bad Food - Set meals - Grazing... What IS the answer??

Is it any wonder everyone is confused on the "formula or Secret" to losing weight and getting fit? It seems like every day there is another study out that disproves something we were told was "the" way to to do it just a year or so ago. The latest - Milk is bad for your bones - no shit that is the latest word.

There is NO secret - its basic math calories in, calories out (expended). 3500 calories make up 1 lb its your choice if its coming or going.

I do like that Shape magazine has an article on the myths and fads of dieting.
(http://www.shape.com/weight-loss/weight-loss-strategies/10-unbelievable-diet-rules-backed-science#080713) I am not a breakfast eater never have been, probably never will be. I'm sure that next year something else will come out and say the opposite of this article, but for now I am glad to see that I am not "killing" my metabolism by skipping the Grape Nuts (ewww).

Honestly you have to figure out what works for you and go with it. What my "key" to it all may not be your key. I have learned I can't just eat 1200 calories a day and be productive much less nice.  I can't label foods good or bad - as soon as I do I abscess about the "bad" food list until that is ALL that I want. For me food is food, now some of it I can eat more than something else.

I've also learned the scale is NOT a good indicator of where I am at - my jeans are.. Since I am working on sculpting muscles the scale isn't helpful - the tape measure and how things fit are a better indicator of progress for me.

Yes you will have ups and downs and yes you will find that something that worked at the start of your journey doesn't in the middle. Things are always evolving, but generally you have to try something and see if it works for you - someone else go to formula just may not be yours.

Where did Summer go??

WOW long time no blog. Sorry things really are insane right now. We are super swamped at the office and I also have a TON of things going on in my personal life at the moment and there isn't a slow down in sight for months. I'm a little bummed that I pretty much have missed summer. Summer is my hands down favorite time of the year.

I love warmer weather, longer days, shorts and flip flops. Hot dogs on the grill, laid back weekend nights hanging with friends in the drive way laughing and talking until 1 am.   Spur of the moment cook outs - in short memories made.

Fall just seems busier with everyone trying to get things done before winter sets in. School starts, schedules kick in, people start thinking/stressing over holidays and getting it all done before the bad weather hits and stays. Before you know it your snowed in, freezing and everything is grey and slushy.

I plan to enjoy what is left of Summer and hang on to the warmth as long as possible before the harsh reality of snow boots, sleet, sub zero temps and a cranky KayLynn season starts.

Its August - which brings back to school!!

Thankfully this season no longer applies to me, as I used to go flat broke with all the back to school must haves, fees, books, new clothes etc...
These days you can rent your college textbooks at Campus Book Rentals with major perks such as:

saving 40 - 80% off the book store price
free shipping both ways
you can still highlight in the textbooks
flexible renting periods
live customer support
21 day risk free returns

Need to make a few extra dollars??  Campus Book Rentals also has a rent back program for students who purchased their books and would like to earn more for their investment than the traditional sell back programs offer. Generally 2 to 4 times the amount of most buyback programs.  More information on that can be found in the video below and at RentBack.com

I think the best part of this company is the fact a percentage of every rental is donated to Operation Smile which is a international children's charity that provides free cleft surgeries. Since 1982 Operation Smile has been changing the lives of children all over the world.   More information on Operation Smile can be found at their website www.operationsmile.org.
